There's a lot of people/text to support that WWII only happened because Germay was so over penalized for WWI.

US is far and away the worlds largest arms dealer and we are arming all sides. Now all the assholes in congress that approve and benefit from this pretend their shocked and they want to get to the bottom of it and call for accou tability.

Meanwhile they want bans and restrictions on hand guns and rifles of private citizens.

But when it comes to authorizing hundreds of billions in actual weapons of war and mass destruction to be shipped all over the planet they can't vote Ye fast enough in a massive show of bipartisanship. It makes me sick that I pay so much tax money to support this.

I agree 100%. We need to end their reign.

I think when people read about this in history books 50 years from now, they'll read that we were already in the early stages of WWIII. And they'll probably find that this had a lot of off ramps that our governments ignored.

If things keep going the way they are, in 50 years people will be looking at stick figures scratched onto cave walls in charcoal trying to interpret what it means.

No doubt. Hitler fed on resentment over the Treaty of Versailles and the stiff penalties levied against Germany, many of which limited its military expansion after WWI. However, with Europe in an economic depression and lacking its own means to counteract the Nazis, Germany’s military became an unstoppable force. If not for the Battle of Britain (and Hitler’s irrational start of a second front), the world would be a very different place.

While I appreciated Trump keeping the US out of international military campaigns, his coddling of dictators while admonishing our allies lacked tact. Guys like Putin and Kim Jong Un were never going to “like” him or the US, despite his best efforts.

There was so much Trump could have accomplished if he just shut the F up every once in a while. Hands-off presidents often produce the best results, which largely worked until March 2020. Once Trump faces a foe he couldn’t denigrate with insults, the gig was up.

I don't think the goal was to get them to like him. You don't talk shit about someone you're about to negotiate with. You don't want to sour the negotiation just because the guy didn't like you talking shit about him.

So the results were, we lived in a safer world and you don't like he said some nice things?

Trump wasn't trying to get them to like him...he was trying to make sure they stayed in their lane...and it worked.  But let’s be sure and get all hung up on his ego, immaturity and pettiness...that's way worse than emboldened dictators and a violent world!

Attributing world safety to Trump is circumstantial, at best. If presidents are to be praised or demonized based on events occurring during their watch, then we should build a monument to Obama, as the US economy soared during his terms. Sure, things flourished in spite of, not because of, Obama’s actions, but the same argument could be made about Trump’s role in global security.

That’s not to say Trump didn’t contribute to global conditions. But he maintained a more hands-off policy, it’s like he accomplished something by doing nothing. Which I guess is an accomplishment.

Are you really under the impression that Trump somehow based his decisions on, if someone liked him?  Putin, Jong Un...etc., probably didn't like him, but be sure, they respected him.  And the primary reason we weren't mired in military campaigns during his presidency, like we are now.

Trump couldn't accomplish, or further his policies because he was constantly under a barrage of attacks and assaults from the liberals and the misinformation media.  Trumps who didn't need the aggravation of being President did so because he saw what this country was turning into and set out to expose the swamp for what it was.

It's been three years of Bidens presidency and look where were at now.

Germany didn’t hv much of a plan. When we got involved they didn’t hv enough diesel to fight for 1. The 759 tanks where junk usually blew up. My grand parents ,mom, uncles are from Holland. My grandparents talked about b4 the war the Jewish people controlled all the money & political influence. My Grandpa was a pow in a nazi camp so he wasn’t a big nazi fan. He never talked of it even when my grandma died from cancer at home. I took care of him.  Had to pull him out of the bath tub he was so weak to get ready for the funeral. No scares or brandings on him.  He hated guns but bought 1 to defend himself against my dad.  My other grandpa was American & in ww2.  Both cowards & deathly afraid of my extremely violent dad. Back to ww2 Holland only had 1 tank it was a 1918. Aprox 30 armored cars 1936 car with a gun mounted.  Only a handful of large battles norbandy beach that battle saw tens of thousands more civilians killed than both sides.  Bizarre human behavior showed us how brutal a human can be.  But Vietnam solders kill numbers are much higher than ww2 solders. I worked  with both 70,s - into 2000,s .  Farming & pipeline const. They loved seek & destroy patrols . And no it’s not like the movies with nightmares etc. rare but 1 would say get down on your rt in his sleep at the motel. I would say how many ? Or how do ya get the safety off this gun. He would wake up & say shut up you goofy bastard. .  Ww3 is not happening.  The world knows our air attack is brutal.   If there’s a group we want to get we,ll take 40k civilians out . A percentage of our boots on the ground are the best. But not in 400k numbers.  A Russian that moved here in 99 told me . They forced all the Russian,s to fight. They had very brief training 2 clips in a Ak47. Then throw them into war. Our average soldiers should be able to grease a guy like that.

You're graph doesn't really tell the story. Like all the under employed people. That the oil production happened "in spite" of Obama trying to shut it down. So much more to that story.

But back to the point, the "hands off" presidency is laughable. Maybe you all forgot about sanctions on China? The world's going to end the media told us. Maybe you all forgot about bettering relations between north and south Korea? Maybe you forgot about his speeches that got NATO countries to pony up more money? Maybe you forgot about vaporizing Solomani?

Yes, it was a much safer world under Trump.

What? All that money from Zuck? All the ballot harvesting? The illegal mules? That was all Trump? The information suppression that the deep state did to protect Joe? OK, you go with that if it makes you feel better.

But just try to stay on topic about how the world was safer under Trump. You can't because no matter how you try to deflect and spin, it's just the plain truth.

I agree that one graph doesn’t tell the whole story. of course it can’t.

I was just pointing out that the stock market did very well under Obama. Unemployment figures from the start of presidency to end of presidency also was also a solid improvement under Obama.

Fair to say those 2 factors are generally some of the biggest indicators of economic performance.

You guys can get back to regular programming (arguing) 😂

The stock market.

😂🤣😂

Yeah, that's a real economic indicator for the working class taxpayers.

Before obama I was swamped with cabinet jobs.

Usually 4-5 waiting in the wings.

Then... everything dried up.

All the trades were struggling.

But hey, the stock market though.

SMDH.

All the trades were struggling.

But hey, the stock market though.

SMDH.

Yeah, the prime indicator as to how the biggest companies in the country are tracking, how peoples 401ks are performing, investor sentiment etc. is completely useless. 🙄

Trump and his supporters loved to point out stock market performance when he was in office (and conversely when it was being hammered under Biden), and they were right to, he also managed the economy well. (I am not here to argue who was better, I was just pointing out a few indicators under Obama)

Literally every macroeconomic factor influences the stock market. It is laughable to suggest it’s not an indicator of economic performance.

The stock market.  😂🤣😂   Yeah, that's a real economic indicator for the working class taxpayers.    Before obama I was swamped with cabinet jobs. Usually...

You're deflecting again. You want to bring up Obama? Then maybe bring up how there were ne consequences under Obama for Russia to invade Crimea.

Again, world much safer under Trump.

I think you will find I only ever responded to a discussion regarding economic performance with a key data point, so I am not deflecting at all.
There is plenty of discussion in this thread regarding world safety and I don’t think I can (or want to) add further noise. People’s minds are made up, and that’s fine.

I can't help from chuckling a bit when folks say they did ok under so and so administration.  There are winners and losers no matter who is in office.  I can say fairly confidently that who ever is in office is on the winners side of the aisle.

No matter what...always remember...if you have a better life under any administration...that is purely coincidental and your prosperity wasn't anywhere near their radar.

Sometimes you catch the wave and sometimes you're scraping the bottom just holding yer breath.

I never had enough brain power to stay ahead of the game.  For those of you that have shit figured out...I salute you big brain fuckers.  I'll be on the corner waiting for my short bus.Blush

No, you were piling on to the deflection after someone was called out for claiming Trump coddled dictators and admonished allies. But we'll leave it there.

That's a pretty short sighted view. While we all live in a certain bubble and adjust our lives to the community we live in. At a minimum, when the president staves off wars, are we not all winners? I pretty much like that no nukes are landing in my back yard. But that's just me. And just the FACT that we have to worry about getting involved in another war should scare/piss the shit out of you.

Still love you brother!
