Hi!
I’ve been around this forum for quite some time but never posted anything. Thought a good start would be to share a little hack for the Alpinestars tech 10 bootie.
In my opinion the boots are great but if I had to find something to improve is the the lack of tightness in the bootie. I’ve seen some pro riders having laces but not sure if they have the exact same bootie as the standard one. Anyhow I decided to put some quick laces to mine and cut the elastic band. 100% recommend for those who wants the bootie tighter!

I did the same thing. But mine does not look as clean as that lol just punched holes and threw in laces.
Think the pros use the bootie from the roadrace boot..
Some of the ones the pros have look different but some run the super tech r booties
Can you buy those booties anywhere?

Looks clean!
I just bought a used pair of tech 10’s and they came with laced booties. The laces even have an astars logo on them, did some of the boots come with booties like that?
I think you have ended up with a custom set from a sponsored rider.
Sponsored Pros don't run super tech booties. They are custom made for the riders.
Exactly, these are the ones that the pros are using, custom made.
I hope AS will implement this in future versions. Is clearly a benefit and at the price of the boots, it should not be a cost matter.
Yeah, a boa latch would be perfect
I have some for sale. What size do you need?
12!
Sorry, the ones I have are size 9!
Alex- Where did you source the lace and the lock from? I think you have solved my number one gripe on the tech 10’s!
What I really want is the Supertech R Vented Boot Bootie.
How did you add the eyelets?
Take 'em to a shoe repair shop. I'm sure they could probably do it.
Looks factory! What size cord and grommets did you end up using? Did you end up just getting it all from amazon? I’m pretty committed to trying this as I could use a little more support from the Tech 10’s.

I have made a few of these type of modifications to Tech 10's before for a few riders. I agree the Tech 10 boot has a loose fit for most people and to help that we not only add the laces but we also add a proper insole inside the boot to tighten the toe box area up. Everyone loves the modifications and feel like the boot is more connected to their foot.
I have also made custom booties for individuals and modified ones to accommodate people with pins and screws in the ankle area. I always use Tech 10 due the extra space within the boot that allows for accommodations without modifications to the boot itself.
I don't get why Alpinestars sell their Tech 10 with laces. I got the Supertech R boots with the laces for this track day season and they are so much more snug whan the Tech 10 i use when i ride MX.
Does the Supertech bootie stay in the Tech10 like the original bootie or can you put them on your foot and slide into outer boot?
