America is going to shit. A hot chick is supposed to sing the national anthem. Thats how it's done here.
How it was done.

Hey, I was an official member of the "Kiss Army" man! When I tuned in last night and saw who was going to play, I was stoked! But, sadly, that wasn't his best night...

I think guitar anthems are way cool... IF you do it right.

Ace's performance just shows you why letting fans drink beer "and" carry grenade launchers is not always a bad idea.......

That was disgusting. I play bass in a hack band, and I could do way better than that on guitar. He missed so many notes, then slid up/down trying to find the right key it was just pathetic. He played one whole section out of key. I don't know if he was toasted or not, but i would have a lot more respect for our national anthem than to do what he did.

FWIW, I am an old guy that grew up with kiss. They were my first "favorite" band back in the 70's. That was just the worst display I have ever heard. I could spend 10 minutes on that and do a much better job and I am not that good.

But you're not Ace Frehley that was part of a gimmick band from the seventies.

Kiss was as shitty thirty years ago just as it's shitty today.

why didn't you like it? only bad thing about it was when his stash caught on fire inside that monster gheetar of his. Smile
I agree, I loved it. So much better than a local 9th grader.

I am not a Kiss fan but I liked it better than some old washed up TV star like Tina Yothers a few years ago. At least it was different and they are trying.

I think it was a great idea to have the National Anthem played on the guitar, it just was not a great idea to have ACE do it.
I am guessing it was much worse on TV than it was live.
Did anybody see the Anthem at the College National championship bail out bowl?
Flea played his base for some singer I do not know. It was a little different and really good.

I had high hopes for Ace...but it was a little rough, and his amp was f-ed up. I do want a full in depth interview by RacerX of what happened to Ace that night and who's fault the failed sound check was.

i thought it was a decent idea, but Ace Frehley? kiss has admitted themselves that they weren't horribly talented...

i could think of quite a few other guitarists that should have been in the pecking order before Ace...

that said, it was ok. the fire was gimmicky and so was the tape pull... lmao

only problem i saw was ace trying to sound like neil young in a garage somewhere near santa cruz...shit neil young would kick ass too and he certainly wouldn't be all on key and musically tight that is for sure.

look at plant and page wondering wtf is neil going off on. Smile

anyways...like any of you whiney fucks could do better..."we got mx and geetar know it alls here at vital folks...come on by". Smile

that was the guitar playing of someone who has only played for a couple years, not someone with over 40 years guitar experience. he sucked a big one.
You said it. I have played for 25 years and I'm also a fan of his. But that was a gruesome dislplay. So many over shot notes general screwups. He is capable of much much better. He was either drunk or loaded on something that turns your fingers into puddy. I'm learnng the Anthem right now just to see how hard it is and it's simple. It's also easy to add a lot of your own color like Hendrix. BTW Hendrix wasn't sloppy, he was trying to make it sound like Vietnam with missle and bombs and planes.

I would have really enjoyed hearing Carrie Underwood or Taylor Swift sing it. The smoking guitar was cool though.

I agree that the performance was definitely not top notch GTR playing... but I do like the idea of switching things up a bit by occasionally having the Anthem done differently.
