No way did I ever think we would see the level of dominance that James Stewart and Ricky Carmichael again, and we havent really. Jett has won every moto so far, but there is no where near the skill this year gap as there was in 2002, 2004, and 2008.
I thought for sure the time had come and gone when there could possibly be one guy winning every single race.
But I always did wonder... If there were to be another rider going 24-0, what would he look like riding? how fast would he possibly have to be?
Were about to find out tomorrow.
Jett is facing a more formidable opponent in Sexton then RC or Stewart had to race. The sx champ, who gave Tomac all he could handle last year.
RC said after 02 he doubts it will ever be done again. Then he did it again, then a perfect overall season, then Stewart did it. Here we are again with another possibility. Pretty insane when you think about it. Never happened in the entire history of MX and now it could happen 4 (5 overall ones) times in the last 21 years.
I’d say the competition is stronger during Jett’s potential perfect season. Stew had to beat MA800. At least theres chase who battled Eli to the end and DF14 a previous champ.
I think I also said no way in a thread someone posted last year. Looks like I'll be eating some crow.

Chase is very, very fast. Eli has to be one of the fastest outdoors that we’ve seen in 10 years and chase went head to head with him several times last year. Ferrandis straight up passed and beat Tomac in the sand (southwick?) a couple years ago as well.
These dudes aren’t a depleted field. Yes Tomac is missing but these folks have kept Tomac honest
Jett’s perfect season is likely to gain more attention from media outside the sport as well. He has that Ricky Johnson quality and no one’s quite had that since but here we are.
