New Losi RC bike

They are available to download on the Losi website under the Brand / Graphics I grabbed them already.

cool thanks

Your welcome! I make MX graphics too, so that was one of my first thoughts.  I saw somebody say the templates were available on the Losi site and tracked them down right away.  I think they will be fun to make kits for, and will not use a lot of materials. But designtime could be right there with a full sized kit .  Printing customer designed kits might be the way to go .

I have recently been getting into some sublimation and  think it would be cool if they came out with blank gear to sublimate.

Bike looks well built and after watching a couple of those videos discussing the design ,  I'll get one for my next recovery !

Losi/nitro dudes, anyone interested in these two Losi 8's ?  the one with white wheels is like new(maybe a tank ran thru it) and the one with yellow wheels is in great condition (maybe a dozen tanks ran thru).  If anyone is interested shoot me a message.

I have two 1/5 scales Losi buggy’s now , one is gas and the other one is electric. Each car has at least $1500 wrapped up in not including radio and 4cel batteries . So I think that $600 for the bike is very reasonable. C9B62BAE-380F-40F7-89FF-AC0F476B438B

I agree with past RC bikes we have seen so far. There is something about RC bikes at low speed, rubbing on the side thingies, and then speeding up in a wobble as it balances on 2 wheels. I've never been a fan.

BUT... this is different. The stabilization they are using, the work of the good folks of Losi.. today's sensors and batteries are a bit better than say, 10 years ago.  This is not like the McGrath or Ricky bike.

I'd say let's give it a chance before thrashing it. I agree for the money an RC car is a proven value, but as far as MOTO is concerned, this seems to be the closest our sport has come in RC form.

Personally, I am not too fond of heavy R/Cs. Planes or land vehicles. Heavy mass equals more wear and repairs and costly crashes. And little kids and pets around never liked being hit by anything weighty. For realism this larger scale is the way to go, but I would love to play with a much smaller version, not a 4 pounds heavy one.

See you in 10 years when we have mind controlled 1/24 scale R/C dirt bikes that can shred on the restaurant table while waiting for the food. Tabletop Wheelie boys, woohoo !

Fair enough... I will eventually try it. But its the same thing only newer and going to be the same outcome. The gyros that are "making this new version amazing" are just numbing the actual feel you can get from an "analog" 1/10th off road buggy (~$299 RTR on Amainhobbies.com). You can actually whip a real buggy and its half the price. These are like flying a quadcopter on hover mode instead of "full acrobat mode".

I just hope RC racing can get just a little bit of attention into the sport from these "bike sponsors" flooding the video. Traxxas is at every full scale race on the planet and has NEVER given a damn thing to RC Racing. At least this is TLR or Losi and I hope some of the energy goes into RC instead of just taking from it.

I've been in the RC world, on the ground and in the air, for over twenty years....

Why are you so offended by this thing? I get that it's not as analog as a buggy or similar, but it CAN'T be because of how it has to balance. Comparing it and judging it based on out of date tech seems pretty irrelevant. If you've watched the videos you can see this is an entirely different product than any existing RC motorcycle.

Everything is "the same thing only newer"

You don't have to like it, but you are throwing A LOT of hate for a guy who admittedly hasn't had any experience with the product.

Nah... Im not offended. Im sorry for being a dick if its coming off like that. I am just warning new people looking at this unit and letting them know there is many better options to get into RC and for much cheaper.

I know 10 people that bought the last moto bikes (As I worked at a hobby shop selling them) and they all sit on the shelf now collecting dust next to their RC surfer, RC Snowmobile and Kyosho Sno Cats. The fun factor is PURELY in that its an RC bike and looks awesome.

ya i stopped doing moto full time about 3 years ago and i became rich instantly just by a few things:

no other industry wants them today, yesterday and free

nobody in any other industry questions an artwork fee

motocross friends are the worst about "hooking me up"

im just going to offer it as an add on to existing orders for $25 or something...

I had the first real R/C bike back in the 80’s called the electa bike or something like that. Was a kit you could buy from Tower Hobbies. Was fun to build and drive but crashed it a lot. I still have both the big and little McGrath ones from Tyco, and sad I sold the RC one that was given to me.  I am tempted to try one of these as I am sure modern technology has had to have some improvement since the last models.

Mine was delivered yesterday. I broke it in on the pavement which was a bad idea. One crash in the road and the top of the rear fender along with the back of the jersey were thrashed. Seems like I’m going to need separate gear / plastics for the dirt and road unless I want it to look hammered all the time. I moved to the local baseball diamond and set up markers to make a little track. This thing is seriously impressive. It turns fairly well. I’d say it would have no problem on a mild 1/8 track. Tracks with big jumps that have no run up will be difficult as the rear tire will never hook up as good as the 4WD 1/8 buggy and truggy tires. I just drove out to the local track, but it was closed because they have a race Saturday. Will have to get out there next week. Definitely the best electric MX bike on the market. Sorry Stark.

It received mine last weekend. It's harder than expected to turn with berms. It rails into them great but it's difficult to time leaning the bike back up. If you wait just a tad too long it starts to circle back. There's a learning curve for sure.

Steering is a bit like MX Simulator for anyone who has played that. You initiate the turn with a little steer as the rider tips further and further, then come out of the turn with throttle or counter steer out of the tighter turns. The MS6X knob works fairly well. Turn it all the way one way and you have to hold the wheel turned to steer otherwise the rider will self upright to some degree. Turn the knob the other way fully and it’s more realistic. The bike will tip into the turn on its own with little steering input. There is definitely a learning curve if you’re not a RC and MX guy. Smooth ground is basically a necessity for steering well. The baseball diamond I was running at kept getting more difficult to run on as the dirt got deeper and deeper the more I rode on it.

"its fun but turns like crap."

"it cant jump jumps because it has no traction."

"it falls over and ruins the graphics in one crash"

Yeah... it sounds amazing.

Also.... Do you guys dress up the little dollies in different lit kits between runs?

Wow it's like the differences in physics between cars and motorcycles exist at scale too!

How many cutie little lexan bodies have you painted? Did you dress them up or just paint them white?

Yah   its more a labor of love to make MX graphics. I love that they have the templates out there , and they have the different colors of plastic. I wonder if any other gear brands will get involved making gear for them?   Jersey's without a name on them so customers can put their own on them would be cool too.

I know the bikes do not turn  or jump like a 4wd buggy will. But they do look pretty realistic when You get the hang of them. I saw a video of  one on a small track that was built like an MX track. enough of a run for it to jump most jumps and when they got a corner or jump clean, it looked very real. I think they might be fun after you get the hang of them. They look like they are the first RC bikes that can be fun on a track. The marks in the dirt on the tire tracks in the video I saw also looked scale.  The more I see of them , the more I want to get one and make a scaleish MX track for it. Have a gate and everything. I've thought about building an RC track anyway.
