I believe just ages, 12-15 and 13-16 like mini sr 1&2. Just a way to give them 2 classes to race in their age range. One could also argue it’s the reason so many classes and then the mini parents want these at the local races. The promoter likes the extra cash and the riders complain of a long race day…
I don't pay a huge amount of attention to 85's, I thought Yamaha updated the 85 a couple of times semi recently, a few years ago and then '22 with the big two strokes?
In guessing this is plastics / token small changes like the KX85/112 rather than a legit 'lets take the fight to the Austrians' kind of update?
It is kind of a shame, I do like KTM for the most part and won't shit-talk them at all but it is disappointing to see certain classes simply be KTM/Husky/GasGas. I can't blame the families at all either, if you're that commited you're never going to pull up to the gate at a disadvantage.

The YZ and KX have recently been updated, but nothing major. IMO, they need a full revamp if they want to be competitive and fight against the KTM Group.

Why have they been so worried about the rain this week?
sometimes you just have to send them and let them race. They are already very far behind, and now they’ve sat here for 20+ minutes just due to rain. I’m not really sure of the thought process on the rain delays the last few days.
I think it’s more of a lightening issue.

Yeah Cotter has no problem sending kids into the really muddy muck for an 1 1/2 hour race in the GNCC's. The Penton race in Ohio this year was so muddy that people were just trying to stay upright walking,........but the race went on.
Haha! Remember they were going to have the 50's do 2 motos instead of 3 until the parents bitched about not getting 3 motos.
