That’s awesome. It’s good he gave everyone a handicap otherwise it would’ve been too easy.

Few things make me happy.  This thread and if Jimmy and the 125 show up to 'dilla, are two of those things.

That's why he came up here. To get some seat time on it before going racing Unadilla.

He could have raced a 150 or 250, but since AMA only allows 125s in the 250 class he decided it was best to race the 125.

People loved it.

Love the sound of a crisp 2 stroke.  As a believer in electric MX bike's potential, I hope 2 strokes NEVER go away completely. I've never heard a 4-stroke MX bike that sounds as good as a  crisp 2-stroke. Really wishing I was able to go to Unadilla.

Also great to see Jimmy able to have some fun riding again, and perhaps show some of the people who thought he was just not putting the work in back years ago, that it was the Lime like he was saying. The races are a better place with Jimmy D there.

Pure f**king music.

Further solidifies the fact that 4 strokes suck.

I don't know, but Steinke scored a single point on a 125 several years ago and made a SX main event last year.

Luke Renzland scored a single point at Unadilla in 2021 and finished 25th overall going 28-20. Benchmark to beat for Jimmy D.

the year that everyone switched from 250 two strokes to 450s (maybe 2003?) in Supercross, I sat in Anaheim stadium and realized it would never be the same.  I own a 450 and a 300 (two stroke), and I love my 450 for certain things, but there's not a single doubt in my mind that it changed the trajectory of the sport of motocross for the worse....

Nothing like the pure skill and commitment it takes to have to perfectly rail a turn so you can clear a jump combo (that you could flub on a thumper and just roll it on and clear with ease).

I was hoping he was going to come up on someone not doing it to get perspective but that picture does it. Nope, no thank you!

It's supposedly 130 feet.

That’s cool that that the Canadian MX series has a 250-C class.  Do they have to race a full season before they turn Pro?

Wow that was amazing to watch. Sounds like the brakes were squeakin a little towards the end. I’m amazed at how fast he was on the rough straights. All the 4s were backing off while he just had it pinned. Even so, it didn’t sound like the bike was struggling at all. That was good 👍

Music to my ears is how he’s riding in the meat of the power, rather than the lean popping and screaming you hear from most one dinga videos.

Funny you mention the brakes. I noticed that too. Mostly because I rode my friend's KTM150 and it made the same noise from the front brake. Front Brake was so strong it stopped on a dime.

Jimmy is riding that 125 at MX23 today and its making the same noise. Normal I guess.

BTW he's absolutely rippin at MX23. True to his nickname.

You mean every 2 stroke video where they rail a berm a gear too low? Yeah, that gets old.

That was  crazy I think a lot of people are missing the fact that his steering head was loose and they used a pair of vice grips to tighten it without touching the pinch Bolt the way the KTMs are designed that sketchy as hell and he went full send anyways LOL! That track was super awesome and how can anybody not love the sound of a screaming 2 stroke ridden the proper way!

Helmet cams were super popular there until about 2017ish. Man they give us some amazing views.

Jeeeeez... Riding that thing for all it's worth.

Videos like these are always a solid reminder how fast a good 125 really is when it's allowed to work as intended, by someone with a skillset to work with it and make that possible.

It's good to be seeing more of Jimmy again also.
