He's as good as dead, very few kick the pain killer addiction at that point. My neighbors son used to look like that when he would get home at times with only three wheels left on his vehicle. Or sometimes the car was still in the drainage canal. Really good kid ,well educated and 31 years old when he died from the "accidental" overdose. But the docs will keep writing those prescriptions. Wonder if Link's doctors would give him free office visits and prescriptions at the pain management clinic if he brought in new patients with him? That's how they get all the college kids hooked here in Texas.

It's probably his parents fault for making him the way he is and his fault for not fixing it. The addiction to pain meds is only a symptom. Everyone has an excuse for using.

I'm over it. Addicts are addicts... nothing tragic or special about them. Maybe everyone should make a video and just get on with their lives.

Many of us out there living anonymously. No Name, no fans, no video...

I spent alot of years spiraling out of control. Spent the last few trying to repair the damage to my reputation, my relationships, my self respect...

Sometimes I think a story like this only helps to perpetuate the "rockstar" image, and glorify the lifestyle that got him into the sad state he's in, but somebody will make a buck off it.

I hope the best for anyone who has struggled with addiction and truly makes an effort to overcome it.

Some of you know this but I used to take 15 - 20 Vicodin ES every single day. I was on it for 8 years straight (not at 20 per day obviously.) The reason I got my leg cut off was to get rid of the pain and get off the Vicodin. I was lucky enough to have that choice because eventhough my body was addicted to it, my mind was not. It took about 6 months after I quit to start feeling normal again.

I guess that's why I don't have a lot of room for the addiction excuse. Of course it's hard to quit. Why does everybody think everything should be easy?

I don't feel sorry for Larry. He chose to ride motorcycles and he chose to go big. He brought these problems on to himself and now he's effing up his kid's life too, that's who I feel sorry for. (Awesome job Larry, at least you didn't sell out.)

However, I really do hope he can clean up before his kid thinks that's how life is supposed to be.

That scene with the kid is a heartbreaker...


I don't wish addiction on anyone, some have to go pretty far down to be able make the choice to change... some won't or can't and will die.

Good words... and you are doing what you need to do now to accept, maybe repair some stuff, and move on. That's really awesome.

There are so many of us... pick a dependency and the story writes itself.

I've lost a whole bunch of friends and sometimes wonder why we have been so lucky to have gotten on. This guy needs to do the same and I support him and everyone else going through it, but do we really need another dramatic depiction of the lost-soul-with-a-sparkling-future-loses-it-all-to-be-hooked-on-drugs? Welcome to the club that is millions and millions strong...

I believe you are a bit harsh on the guy.

Don't know the fella but one must always have an open mind especially if you never delt with mental illness.

Also, most haters like yourself will probably watch the entire documentary because it's moto related and find something special and meaningful from it.

Metal Mulisha guys seems to have their priorites straight with family, kids, homes, careers but they just promote themselves as hardcore. Most are christain fellas I believe like twitch who probably have hearts of gold.

Don't always judge a book by it's cover. Tiger Woods is a perfect example.

As much as I am intrigued, I wouldn't spend $1 to hear his story. Poor Larry and his meds addiction... yeah right. He deserves everything he got and to make a buck off of it is a shame.

He's one of those people that are good at everything they do - just filled with natural talent. Too bad he succeeded the most at being a scumbag to people that were actually his friends. Maybe he has changed - I hope he has...

Looks very intriguing. I will absolutely watch it.

You gotta be smart enough to realize if you have an addictive personality or not. But like someone else mentioned, there could be serious mental issues present too and maybe he was aware of his addictive personality but his mental issues just made him not give a shit either way.

Bottom-line is wake the fuck up, you have a child who's life you are endangering.

Ive known the Linkogle family since I nearly began racing.... Larry and I used to ride everyday after school for years, I always looked up to him because he was a few years older and also VERY talented on a dirt bike!! By no means was his family RICH like some may think. Its hard to see him like that because of the way I remember us as kids back in the day. His parents were GREAT people, it just so happened that he got hooked on some bad things. He was the other guy that started the Mulisha and helped brand it into what it is today. I havent spoke to him or his family in years!! I think some are being a bit unfair and harsh with the finger pointing and criticism. Many people go through bad points in their lives, its just that some people go through harder times and deal with it differently. Before you all start bitching look in the mirror for your own flaws and bad points in your life to see what got you out and on a better path!!

I agree with you Hambone but when the time comes that you have a child, all bets are off. Shape up by any means necessary. I guarantee the day you have a child and you see it and hold it for the first time you make a promise to yourself your going to do WHATEVER it takes to keep your child safe.

Of course I guess it is completely possible that Larry has yet to interact with his child with a clean clear mind.

Heres the deal, I have a family history on both sides that the past has shown they have very addictive personalities, any time I am or have been in pain I do my all not to take Vicodin or Perks. The only stuff that I consider is when in hospital if I require morphine to one help the pain but to bring my stress down. The feeling Vicodin gives me is that of being disconnected from the world!! Like an out of body feeling!! Strange I know but thats not fun to me!! To anyone that has the same thing in their families past are usually the easiest ones to spot!! I just hope he can change before his kid is too old and hes missed the growing years!!

I totally empathize with your Vicodine description. I just had surgery today and they had me take one before I could leave the hospital,; that is EXACTLY the way I felt as well.

Well if you don't want to be criticized or judged, then don't make your life public.

People defending these public figures for doing stupid things is just such a joke. It's our society at it's finest.

And on a side note, having experienced addiction in many different ways and forms, I can say whatever I want about this out of empathy.

It's like some pathetic "born again" thing. Instead of tapering off as most people do with age and experience, they have to make a big deal of it and let everyone know about their "wild days". They think they know it all. I know some guys like that. Boring.

Hey Hammy, you remember Larry, right?

Larry was one of my good friends when I was racing. I used to hang at his house all the time, go riding out off of Clinton Keith, etc. Back then, Bryan McGavran lived up the street, and Hammy here was always McGavran's rival on 80s.

I lost touch with Larry after high school or so, but I had heard most of this. Hopefully, he's doing better.

Why even hate on Linkogle? You would be surprised of the people who go through problems just like Larry Linkogle went/is going through.
