We need age and term limits. Get these old crusties out of office.
Nobody over 65 should hold government positions
It's scary people like this are our decision makers in this country.
I can only imagine what the Whitehouse staff gave him medication wise to perk him back up lol.
The majority are over 65!
I read this morning he fell a few months ago and hit his head, spent some time in the hospital. We're motocrossers, we all know about concussions, brain fog from it and the sometimes lasting effects.
His current term ends on January 3, 2027.

seems fit for the job to me, no issue
Couldn’t agree more.
Nobody over 61 should be allowed to run for office, you don't want them aging out mid term.
Sounds fair.
Here in Australia I’d love to see the popularity style elections gone. Put your resume in and my the best qualified get the job.
It all reminds me of voting for high school captain's like if you vote for me we all get two lunch breaks and no homework.
I see here the two party preferred style democratic dictatorship we live under has done it’s day and does not work.
Whatever was happening there, I sincerely hope that he is okay. I may not like all of his politics but that looked like he was going through a very scary episode.
My brother used to have little episodes like that but they only lasted a few seconds. It didn’t impair him from really anything except talking. If he was driving he still followed traffic signs, could interact with traffic, etc. But if he was talking he would stop mid sentence for anywhere from a couple seconds to over a minute. The only explanation that the doctor could give back then was that he was having a sort of mini migraine, but he didn’t have any pain.
That generation of politicians have made their millions off of tax payers over decades and they keep holding on. Greed and corruption.
I wouldn't go so far as to put an age limit on any office because everyone is different. There's 75 year olds I wouldn't want to tussle with... physically or verbally.
But criminey sakes...some of these old geezers are probably in too bad a shape for even a nursing home...call hospice.
Sadly, the only way to get them out is for each party to pull support. Too many party-line toters to vote them out.
The problem with these entrenched fossils is,
The financially own the districts where they are supposed to be representing.
All of them.
They have such a stranglehold on campaign funds that nobody can afford to run against them.
Add to that, pork spending for their constituents, and name recognition.
And you have them cemented to their seats in DC.
Hell, here in Tennessee, until his corrupt ass finally retired, nobody could afford to run against lamar alexander.
And they'll never vote for term limits on themselves.
They're raking in too much money.
Looks like someone spiked him.
Or at minimum ,have any candidate over 60,62 (pick an age) take a 3rd party in-depth cognitive test , full blown physical etc, etc. Im 64 and still race the +60 class with a shit load of dudes that are sharp as a tack and are quite physical specimens , but too many of these politicians are way past their effective date for sure
It’s not just an age thing…what about that goof from PA?

What about mental health/capability?
An then there’s a Senator suffering from mental capability issues AND older than all get out…
And then there’s the guy that’s shits the bed right in front of us; but, some of us don’t care…
Term limits and age limits NOW! McConnell has been a joke forever. Freaking RINO.
Pit Row
Most of what you said there is true.
There is one fraction of one party fighting against all that. The ones who don’t take a dime from any super PAC and fight against all of Congress, themselves included, being able to buy and sell stocks. Lots of things like that. They call themselves the Progressive Democrats. Many here like to call them far left or radical or communists or socialists etc.
I'm not so concerned about age limits as I'm concerned about term limits or some form of accountability. Cobain mutch needed to go along time ago. China lackey who put democrat/corporation wants ahead of those that voted for him. Every election cycle you hear him say how he's gonna do this and fight the democrats and corporate lobbyists ect but the day after the elections he's right back to being the rino he's always been.
But in the end it's our fault for voting him in again and again.
I could support those progressive democrats if the rest of their platform wasn't total garbage.
You will never agree with any single politician on everything, that’s for sure. I sure as hell don’t.
*sigh*
1. term limits
2. i was just reading about the mandatory retirement age of pilots to be 67. we all know why. yet we let 81y old people RUN OUR COUNTRY? I'm not trying to shame these folks for being old, but damn, when i'm 81 I hope I can stay awake until Jeopardy comes on. I sure as HELL shouldn't be negotiating the future of our country. Heaven help us with Biden, who doesn't know what day it is. Sigh.
The Feinstein video was too cringy
Damn
Biden should be easy to take down. But somehow, he’s the overwhelming favorite to win re-election. Says a lot.
If the DNC really cared about what was best for the citizens of America wouldn't they pick a different candidate?
Why do they insist on parading out someone who clearly has dementia yet again?
The things that make you go hmmmmm......
Pretty damn spot on Bud.
But, I gotta say...neither party has a monopoly on greed, corruption, senility, and plain old ignorance.
Once any decent person realizes and acknowledges the fact that the people we elect care about one thing...staying in office and gathering wealth (maybe that's two things...idk).
Right now, their top priority is keeping Trump or anyone similar to Trump out of the White House. Showing unity behind Biden, the incumbent, minimizes the risk of Trump or someone similar winning. Bringing a challenge to the nomination shows division and forces each candidate to deplete their funds from their donors to defeat each other instead of saving it for (presumably) Trump.
The way we vote sucks. But every time I mention the best way to vote, everyone here just laughs at me because they don’t understand how it works.
No decent person wants the job...too much corruption.
That only leaves us with swamp creatures to choose from.
I will admit...I find it hard to believe neither party can find a candidate that isn't totally putrid. Wtf?
