A number of commentators/experts have said that Washougal should favour Chase over Jett, often referencing “favouring Chase’s style”.
Now Jett didn’t win a 250 moto there but his 250 record is better than Chase’s. Granted Chase has gone 1-1 and 2-1 on the 450 so that’s pretty solid.
However my understanding is that Washougal is finesse track - perhaps more so than any other on the circuit. I would have thought those conditions would tip the balance in Jett’s favour?
I guess we’ll find out in a few hours!
Writer's gotta write.
Commentators gotta comment.
You're right.
We'll find out soon enough.
Jett hasn't won a moto at Washougal and Chase won the 450 overall the last 2 years with 1 moto win each of those years over Tomac who was really good there.
But, I don't think that really matters, like Joey said, these guys have to say something to make the race interesting and Jett makes it hard to do that.
I've wondered the same thing about their riding styles and Washougal. Chase's best race last year was UNADILLA, while Jett went 7-2. I suppose you need the weekly narrative as media, though.
Sounds like it’ll be an interesting day.

Where has the idea come from that the media thinks we need a narrative?
Comparing Jett's 250 results to Chase's is a little unfair because the Hon 250 that Chase was on was not very competitive and don't forget that 250 Moto win of Jett's was a last lap gift from Cooper....with that said I do agree with you that it is a finesse track and we will see how that works out shortly as we haven't seen 450 Jett on this track yet...
Track is super deep and soft with lots of sand and sawdust added from normal.
Not just the media, the production crew goes into each moto with a narrative, and dang it they won't even let the racing get in the way of a "good" story.
Can’t blame this on Media or Production. They actually mentioned it themselves in the Press Conference. Chase said it’s one of his favorite tracks and Jett mentioned it’s his least favorite. Time will tell what it will do to the results though, going to be a good one probably
We haven’t seen Jett on a 450 at ANY track not counting MXdN Red Bud and he seems to be doing ok🤷🏼♂️
2 more moto wins to keep the streak alive.
Hoping sexton ends the streak so the talking heads can find something else to talk about.
Jett has never had a bad start on the 450 so that will play into his favor on this track. He's clearly a much different rider on the 450 than the 250 so I don't think there's a ton of weight in the Jett is bad at Washougal conversation but it does create an interesting story in hopes of someone else winning a race.
Well that answers that question.
I can't believe how terrible jett is at Washougal. Sexton was such a beast there 2day
lol
