Which track of the Texas Winter Series would you recommend? I have raced Freestone so I want to try ride another one of the tracks. It looks like it is between; Swan, Oakhill, Whitney, and Village Creek.

Obviously Whitney is the most national-like with the best dirt, would be my first choice.

That is what I have heard from a couple of other people that has raced the series also. Lucky for me, my wife said there is no other place she would rather be than at a track on Valetine's Day!

Thanks, Cam.

I wish they had a couple a week apart so I could race two when I make the drive. But, I see they are every two weeks.

What is the track diffence between them? Are they all pretty natural tracks with no jumps or laden with jumps or what?

Oakhill is very outdoor natural type terrain, with no massive jumps. It's flowing, great dirt, and gets rough.
Also has a fairly gnarly whoop section. Sandy track, though not a sand track.

Swan would be considered a "pure" old school track. Depending on layout, it can be long, with sweeping turns and ok elevation change, more clay like than sand like. Get's nasty square edged at times.

Whitney has maybe a combo of dirt between swan and oakhill. If they run it, whitney mountain is truly a cliff up and then down..it's steep!
I have not been there in a while, but it was fairly jumpy and IMHO didn't have a "sweeping" layout like swan or oakhill. With the current new owners, every race that has been held there has gotten really rough! But some of that has been weather related too.

Of the above three tracks, all are great, I think i'd choose to race whitney for it's history.

freestone IMHO is not deserving of the national...and is not even close to as good a track as the above three.

village is not on par with the other tracks...but is often fun.

Thanks Aggie. I was and am leaning more to Whitney. Sounds like a good time.

Whitney has the history, but I think Oak Hill is just as good.

X2. Not by much. Whitney is right there with em. Cycle Ranch and Oak Hill are right there, too. It's great to ride a mosickle in Tejas.

They all pretty much have the same great dirt. Whitney is the grand daddy of Texas MX. Swan has really awesome racer-friendly facilities, it's long like Whitney and the woods section is a lot of fun. Haven't ridden CR ever and Oak Hill in a long time, but they are top notch too.

Why be picky? Ride 'em all.

Ive only been to Whitney once, it was a badass track. Fun track for sure. I hear the management is always a pain in the ass though, I didnt personally have a problem with them.

MxFreak, whats wrong with village?
