The thread about Nationals attendance got me thinking....

What will have more attendance this year, all of the WSX rounds combined OR Red Budd?

Discuss, flame, downvote away.

Yeah, yeah, no doubt. I mean I hate it too when promoters try to sell the sport I enjoy to different markets, and put effort in to growing it in order to sustain it's future. There's nothing worse than seeing more people enjoying the same things I enjoy.

"Looky here, there is more dirt bike racing and more money for teams, riders, mechanics and the sport in general. How can I shit on this?"

I just don't get it. WSX has a big hill to climb but if they do climb it the sport will be substantially better worldwide. Why shit on it?

What does WSX bring to the sport?

More racing for us to watch.

More opportunities for racers to make money.

I still can't believe that people are oblivious to what the fraud wSX series goal is...and that they fully support it.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised considering the world we live in today and the shit people support.

Yup. The same people will be complaining when all the tracks keep closing and bikes keep getting more expensive (due to low sales volume).

Why do you feel so threatened by WSX? I’m curious. If it’s such a clown show that isn’t worth anyone’s time or investment, why are you sitting VIP on the hate train in every thread about it? Why are you so insecure if your perspective on it is that it will die soon? You’ve likely spent more time talking about it than most actual fans of it have… kinda weird.

55000 over 2 nights attended the Melbourne round last year.

How many were at Red Bud?

Wasn't that one night wsx and one night Australian Supercross series?

Volume is already low, in 1984 Honda sold 15,562 CR125Rs and CR250Rs in Australia, in 2020 Honda sold 1,180 CRF250R's and CRF450R's in Australia, that's a 92% decrease in sales volume.

Anything that can be done to keep tracks open and increase interest is positive.

More than were at one night at Melbourne....WSX was only one night the other night was Aus SX....you can't compare two days attendance to one....this is a dumb subject anyways

I will shit on wsx all day long tbh. Your not gonna come in here and try to steal the outdoor riders and actively try to compete with outdoors. Know your lane. Down vote me, don’t care

I believe he is stating the obvious that the whole goal of WSX is to eventually detour a large group of top riders away from the outdoor summer series with big money and shiny objects in hopes to pretty much put an end to professional outdoor MX in its current form. You continue to put the golden carrot in front of the fast guys in hopes that the sponsors and manufactures will eventually go along with them.

I'm most definitely no rocket scientist but smart enough to see what is right in front of me. I prefer MX over SX any day but if enough people show interest in the future WSX schedule, it will become more apparent in overlapping MX scheduling in the near future and then all of your favorite summer MX races could be in jeopardy. Maybe Reed will get what he is predicting in the future, but I hope not.

My question is how many watchers were at Redbud?  Nobody knows, but from the shots it looked like it could have been upwards of 20K.

I'll make the point that like Melbourne, which had AUS X on the Friday, Red Bud also had extras attending for the amateurs, so it balances.

Or, conversely SMX with it's convoluted qualification process, and promises of fame and fortune, is trying to destroy an option for the pro riders who find AMA Outdoors is a low paying and unattractive grind.Wink

20k....you are laughable...have you ever been to Red Bud? You might want to double that estimate...in reality does anybody truly know any actual attendance numbers of any races? and like said this just a dumb subject and doesn't matter now that WSX has realized what they are and have changed their schedule so it doesn't compete...

WSX changing their schedule might mean the NBC subsidised prize money kitty is downgraded for Outdoors if it's read as a reduced threat.

20k? Laughing WTF have you ever even been to A national? Not even just red bud but A national period? I would say even doubling would be too low like not even close. There were more people at this redbud national than there were at fucking mxdn and the projections for that were 80k or something?
