Well, DV just said on pulp that if you take 2005-2007 RC and James, put them on 2023 bikes, both beat Jett.

Probably a fair assessment, even if it's prime JS/RC vs Jett's first year.

Exactly. It's a stupid question.

Prime js and veteran rc vs a rookie jett.

Wait 5 years then ask would a Prime jett beat a rookie rc? Again stupid question when your not comparing equal points of there career.

2005 was James’ rookie season in the 450 class,

but yeah you’re right, this is a stupid question, because all 3 had totally different circumstances their rookie 250/450 seasons.

Pretty sure they were talking about 2007. Not 2005.

Did u see the chase interview. He said he said he basically said jett is riding as fast as they were last year.

Also for this stuff to be a question. That mist mean something to even be a discussion. So what is the fmotp and the goat are faster then jett. But for him to even be In discussion with those means he is impressive.

Call me crazy but I think this version of Jett gives a prime RC/Bubba a run for their money.

It's almost as if some people are in denial about how good Jett Lawrence is and that it's Taboo to make any comparisons to RC or James Stewart  It's unpopular to suggest that he'd be able to possibly keep those two in check in his Rookie year, but we also haven't really seen Jett go into Defcon 1 and wick it up to 100% warp speed.  He's a smart kid that gets paid to win Championships for Honda and if 80% Jett is enough to win and stay unhurt, how can you argue against that.

Nobody is in denial and it’s not taboo to compare! I think it’s just a stupid comparison, not because who I think is better or would have the most points, it’s just almost impossible to compare guys that raced 20 years apart. So many different circumstances and variables 20 years ago.

Major denial or no eyes or don't want to see either one, I was in denial when RV was waxing my hero JS7, sure James was not at his best but he was pretty close to it, RV was just better especially outdoors.

It seems like a logical comparison to me. Both eras are 450 four strokes, same tracks, same rules.

Carmichael has no problem with it. He's made his comparison and decided, and stated that Jett is more skilfully and will be around to break records for a long time.

If you're comparing Jett's rookie season to Stew moving up and racing against the undisputed GOAT in his prime while on a superior bike then you are really falling victim to recency bias. Apples to Oranges.

This didn’t a valid comparison.

Rc/Stewart had to race each other. The tertiary party known as Jett isn’t facing one those on your list so it’s not the same.

instead do some stat subbing and see how many second places js7 got to RC and count those as ‘would have been wins’ and vice versa

this gives you an inaccurate picture but a more realistic comparison.

probably Lawrence, perhaps Carmichael. James would win the most until the times he crashed. RC is a maybe because I’ll assume he would be applying pressure to Jett and force him into mistakes. People also forget that Carmichael was blazing fast. This gets lost in all the noise about work ethic and training.

I was at Redbud this day in 2007 and also in 2006 at High Point. I’ve seen everyone from 1985 to present race live and these 2 guys were by far the fastest I’ve ever witnessed. It really was unbelievable. Video does not do it justice. I will say I’ve yet to see Jett race a 450 live though.

💥Bradshaw was BY FAR the fastest kid to ever do it...!!! Nuff Said

What’s amazing is nowadays we think of riding a 250 smoker as being completely a handicap.  RC was still on the smoker and winning titles against guys like KDub on 450s.  The logic of today would say that is not possible

Late reply to this, but I recall RC saying after Unadilla that year when Kdub beat him that he was ringing his 250 out so hard trying to catch him he thought he was going to snap his throttle cable.  Just unbelievable.

I'd say the biggest challenge that Jett faces the rest of his career will be burnout. The same thing that had RC, Villo, and Dungey all retiring at 26-27yrs old

We haven't seen enough of Jett to give a comprehensive answer.  RC had a will to win that is still unmatched by anyone.  Could Jett develop that?  Sure, Will he?  I guess we'll all watch and see.  Single lap speed?  JS7 was the champ...  But most points?  Today my money is on RC.  If he needed speed, he would have produced it...  If he needed fitness, he would have developed it.
