So my husky 250 two stroke blew up recently and I ordered a complete gasket kit for the bike. The kit came with a case gasket, but when looking at a parts schematic for that year, it doesn't show one.
Huskies website says nothing about an update for that year, but the cases are a different part number than previous year model. I bought the bike slightly used and figured maybe the previous owner had messed up.
I literally can't find any reason why the bike blew up, other than that gasket. Possibly the gasket blocked coolant flow or something like that?
Some aftermarket gasket kits come with center case gaskets for bikes that don't have them as O.E.. I don't use them if they don't have them as O.E. and use YAMABOND 4 or Threebond 1211 to seal the cases.
The OEM kit even comes with this gasket.
Then I would use it.
I did. That's the whole point to the post. I'm trying to find out if the gasket blocked an essential port or something that caused the bike to blow up. According to schematics, the bike does not use a gasket this one year. But that is not referenced or said anywhere other than it being missing from a parts diagram.

Post some photos of your piston, the gasket, plug, etc... you rebuilt the top/bottom end and used the gasket? Previous owner rebuilt the engine? How many hours did you make it before it let go? Where are you located and what jetting is in the bike? Any mods? Your post is extremely confusing and lacks a lot of information. Help us help you.
I bought the bike used with about seven hours on it. The guy I got it from seemed a little shady. I put about twenty hours on the bike and decided to go through the entire bike bottom to top end to make sure everything was good.
When I split the cases there was no gasket. Yet everything I read and watched showed a gasket in the bottom end. The OEM complete gasket kit comes with a main gasket for the cases. The description for the gasket kit says 17-22.
So I used the gasket kit, rebuilt the entire bike. I used a wiseco racer elite piston, with pro x seals.
Warmed the bike up and it was blowing a white smoke. Figured it was assembly oil. Stopped smoking after about third heat cycle.
First ride made it down the first straight away and it ceased on me.
Disassembled top end, talked to wiseco, they said a lean cease. Piston wore on exhaust side in two spots, right next to both power valve ports.
Literally can't find a single thing wrong with the bike other than that gasket.
Had a friend with the same bike the other told me he left it out due to it coming from the factory that way. Yet, talk to a dealer and was told they always put a gasket between the cases.
By the looks of the piston and you saying it was blowing white smoke I think it was coolant leaking into the top end.
Didn't find any coolant in top end, radiators were full, and O ring gaskets were in the groves in the head and not squished.
You split the cases to rebuild the bottom end on a fresh 2022 TC250? More laps = less stress.
Well I noticed no gasket between the cases and thought that was weird. The guy also seemed a little shady. It was a good deal, so I figured something must be up.
I'd double-check the order of assembly around the right side crank seal. Check for spacers and o'rings behind the primary gear.
Only way to check the left side seal (as far as I know) is to check it before you tear it apart.
My 2022 Gas Gas 250 (EX TPI model) has a center gasket. I don't think that's your issue.
Thinking air-leak or lean, either from jetting or restricted fuel supply.
The spacer/sleeve and O ring on right side primary were installed and torqued correctly. Brand New main seals were installed.
I'm going to check the carb and tank for obstructions. I don't think it's that though. It shifted through the gears and ran great right before it ceased.
Ended up talking to a guy with the same bike, and he also does not have the gasket. Husqvarna won't tell me shit, and I get different answers from every dealer I talk to.
Maybe a dumb question but when you put the center gasket in did you perfectly shave off the connecting pieces of gasket at the base of the cylinder and the intake where the reeds go?
Post a reply to: 22 tc 250 case gasket??
