2023 KX450SR, can’t remove handlebar mounts

Just picked up the bike from the dealer and when I got it home I was trying to adjust the handlebar position but I can’t get the xtrig PDHS bar mounts to come off.

Here’s a pic, but basically the clamping bar won’t come out or the mount. Everything I’ve seen so far shows these just sliding right out. Could the handlebars have been over tightened and these clamping bars be slightly bent or something? Or am is there some sort of trick to getting these out?

They are supposed to come right out, but it is a tight machined fit. I would assume they are just slightly wedged could try tapping with a mallet or somethin soft not to avoid scratching and try to get it freed up. They have a taper that seats them into the upper holes so make sure you aren’t lifting up when trying to slide out or make sure it’s not catching on that

Looks like some glitter there below your circle. Is something grinding?

Thanks for the reply weland. I will try again tonight with a rubber mallet to see if I can get them free.

captmoto - the glitter is what tipped me off that they might have been overtightened or something at the dealer or factory (not sure where the bars would have been installed). Threads are still in good shape though and its only on the one side.

I am about to remove mine to the middle hole. Any certain way to get these off?

I was finally able to get mine out using a hammer and a punch like weland28 suggested. They took quite a few good whacks to come free but nothing got damaged. I'm going grind/file down some of the material so that I can put them in/remove them with ease going forward. Yours might just come right out though, good luck man.

The elastomers (the donut squishy thing) doesn’t look right compared to my 22 SR. My dealer didn’t install anything and called it good. I had to order them to get it right.
