Busted out a :54 on the 450 last night. Down to a 56:08 on the third lap too.

I can break the 1 minute mark consistently, even with a small crash. Times are only about .5 secs off on the 250F. I even lapped a guy racing the couches.

That uphill quad is way slower than doubling the last two. The secret to going fast is to maintain your speed through the two switchback sections. You want to be able to be pinned wide open going through the right handers. Quading that section means blowing the corner and your set-up for the next right hander leading into the sand whoop straight.

I think this was the first game I played on the PS1. If I remember correctly, you couldn't go to far off of the track in the grass or else you would just crash or fall of the bike or something like that.

Even in that game you could go through the banners.

I hit a 55.85 on the 250f last night, and that's one millisecond slower than my 450 time(55.84)!! So that means I need to work on my time on the 450..... because I am definitely faster and smoother on the 250f.

Make a US account and you will then be able to download it. I'm in Australia using a PS3 and was able to download it after i made a US account.

I finally started to get this game down. I had to practice a bunch to beat my kid's time of 57. Last night I got a 56:10 on the 450 . What helped me a bunch was to practice in training area on the two little SX sections.

This game is actually pretty amazing. Like going through the sand whoops and trying to time them without swaping is awesome. Also the fact that you have to brake, use body english, wheelie stuff, ect, to get a fast lap is very cool. You can't just pin it everywhere like before. Being smooth actually helps.

I wish they still had the preload like before. They've had that system for so long, I can't believe they changed it. Have the Rainbow guys explained why they changed it?

It's realistic now, you lean back to seat bounce.

I'm just waiting for the full one so I can turn off the music and run some 45 min motos...I hit a 56 this morning, but I'm not consistent anymore, i may be trying to go to fast. I think some of the other tracks won't be as technical since hard pack wont rut up as deep, just guessing.

Alright, I have enough time on the demo to put my few cents in...

Other than the zero-gravity-yellow tire-bounce, I am completely satisfied with the game and the level of REALISM. Once you realize you actually have to let off the throttle and brake to make a corner on a 450 (imagine that?), you can really start to flow. You CANNOT ride the 450 like the 250 and be consistent - at least I can't yet. I can get lucky for a lap or so, but balls-to-the-wall on the 450 is not going to fly for an entire race - especially when the track gets rough.

I love how the bike and rider react in the air - as long as you don't slam the sticks around. I found a huge gap in the lobby, and the way your rider "stretches" it out to make it even looks realistic.

Just a few of my hundred thoughts, and it's really nothing that hasn't been said before - but I just wanted to say I appreciate the work that went into this game.

Can't wait for the full version - on my way out to pre-order it right now...

I agree the whole anti gravity tire gets really annoying. In the full version will we be able to adjust the sensitivity of the reflex stick? I agree that most ideas that were implemented in this game we executed fairly well. I cant wait until we can adjust the AI still level so they actually hold a line instead of crossing it up like spodes. And I am happy they took out the preload because it was kinda lame, leaning back is far more natural then "down/up." Oh and to the guy that suggested that the jumps not be 200ft or more..Bravo its finally almost realistic.

If you are talking to me about the lap time - I have a couple 54's on the 450, but those were both LUCKY laps where I kept it pinned and somehow stayed on the track...

I am also very happy that the preload is gone.

I hit the tire on the left side of the step up and did like 10 flips, RC ended up in a tree...and he still won't quit!

(From one of the RBW guys) Here is a tip to throw a pretty stock whip.

Go off the jump holding back on the right stick. As soon as you leave the jump push the left stick right or left, right after you do that roll the right stick up the same direction. When you want to come out of it, let go of the sticks and pin the throttle or correct the other direction with just the left.

First of all, Reflex is definitely headed in the right direction with allowing more maneuverability within the bike AND rider -- which I completely love.

What does everyone think of the whips? I am on the fence with this one right now...

The only time I can really get the rider to throw a nice whip is if I hold the right-stick forward diagnol (going up the lip), but this is more of a scrub.

If I try to pull back on the right-stick (going up the lip) and roll it to the left or right the back end just seems heavy and never lifts in the air.

I have tried using the left-stick in conjunction with the right and also using the rear brake, but nothing gives.

Either I am just really used to the previous MX games or this isn't the way you whip in Reflex.

I did however catch this video which shows some pretty sick whips -- just a matter of time I guess.

i finally hit the 55's last night on both bikes... i even had a 54 but it was like a 54.98 or something, so really just a 55.

i'm starting to figure out how to hold my momentum rather than slamming the corner and trying to turn tight. that doesn't really mean go outside everywhere, just keep a steady momentum..

awesome game, getting better every time i play

The more I play it the more I like it, my riding style changed again the past couple days. Just when you think you have it down, you find a better way to do things or a different line, seriously cool.

On xbox live for download, A lot differant than previous games, but will be great after I can figure out the new physics engine !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
surely this cannot be on the second lap? if it is then how the fuck did you pull that??? the best I've done is a 57.70 with the 250f on the second lap.

11/23/2009 11:51am
my fastest lap is 56.04 on the 250f and thats not the first lap so I believe you can run 55's with it for sure.. i'm faster on the 250f right now thats for sure

definitely on the second lap. my fastest 3rd lap is a low 57.

my 54 was on the 450 and it was all about staying smooth and never getting squirrely. it was tough, i was stuck at 57 and mid 56 for a long time and it finally clicked. now i can get into the 55's almost every race. the 54 was within 2 hundredths of being a 55, so i don't really count it.

Have any of you been able to triple single the double/double after the first whoop section?
