Is it still closed to the public pit pass buyers once the motos start? I remember years ago you could still wander the pits if you bought a pit pass for most of the day but recent years (even pre-covid) your pit pass was null once the first gate dropped.

Is it still cut off after qualifying or is it track to track? I've heard that some pits this year remained closed even after the race day was done. I'll be at Millville in a couple weeks as per usual so I can update this thread how it goes if no one else has any insight at the moment.

Washougal, they say the pits close before 1st moto. Maybe they just close up the gate but the far end of the pits where privateers are theres no fence. Not sure how much security actually wanders or if its just whatever. Probably varies from to place

Sorry but it’s all Bs when those guys go out for training or even when you meet them off track there is no problem at all. Because there isn’t any. The reason I go to races is to watch the professionals and meet them when your lucky you paid enough to get some more out of it .I’ve met David Vuillemin, Valentino Rossi 3 times, Nicky Hayden, Marc Marquez not my choice but my mother 😅 and Marc was a cool guy about it. Nico Rosberg, Jeffrey Herlings yeah I do feel embarrassed some times you feel stupid waiting to get a glimpse but screw it it’s a moment you get only if your lucky and I must say, I know David is active on this forum also, that moment you forget but for a kid well I was 18 that day but anyway just that  moment is in my mind like it was yesterday and it was 20 years ago. For a fan it’s like the ultimate happening. To show your respect 🫡.   I don’t think it’s good to scrap entrance to the pit

There was a time you could buy an all day pass.

I'll be at Millville again myself. The pit pass for Millville says from 9 am to 12 pm. For $33.50 per pass ($30 plus a $3.50 'Handling Fee") for those 3 hours with riders going out for practice during this time, it doesn't really allow for much other than walking around and hopefully a quick interaction with a few riders if you catch their attention while they're focused on setup, or a long line for the riders that are signing or available for a quick pic. Not sure if its really worth it for me to buy 2 unless there was access to the pits after the race as well. But according to the schedule, that isn't the case. Last year, watching the televised races, they would show Sexton at some events signing autographs and mingling with fans hours after the race, so I'm sure each venue has different circumstances.

A rider can get you an all day AMA pit pass if he puts you on the list. You still have to buy it though but then don't need an actual ticket at all.

Last year I bought Millville and Ironman and they were $65 I think and I would imagine they went up this year. (Haven't been to any yet)

Hit me before Millville and I might be able to get you on the list.

MX Culture, I more than likely won't be in the pits during the moto's anyway, but would certainly like to go back again after the races if I bought passes. However, not saying I'm not interested, so I may message you on here and give you my info

MX could take a lesson from NHRA. Open pits are awesome! I love seeing a rider come in after a moto and watch the process of the team jumping on the bike to get it prepared for the next race. There is no reason there cannot be fans watching from behind the ropes. Judging by the lack of crowds at the early rounds of the series it would not be a bad idea to change things up a bit. Taking up a large majority of prime viewing with VIP tents is also hurting attendance. Have fun at Millville

They close the pits after the motos start for a few reasons, but a big reason is so the teams can start taking down the canopies and start packing up. Also People love to steal stuff from the pits when the teams are out on the track that is another reason the pits don't stay open after the races start.

At Hi-Point last weekend it was $30 for Saturday only 9AM-Noon access. Pits were jammed packed.

Not great / not terrible.

Just about anything that they can pick up, can't trust anyone anymore. We have had people try to take a trophy, a wheel, displays, parts....

I used to get pit passes at Anaheim and it was just a red sticker on top of my ticket stub.  It’s been 15 years since then.  I also got them at Glen Helen.  They used to let you back at anytime, also the riders had mandatory autograph sessions and it was very fan friendly.  I’ve seen some YouTube videos of behind the scenes of the current pits and it looks like the riders hate dealing with fans these days. lol

Pala was $100 for an entry ticket.  I didn’t ask about pit prices though
