Only $10 for all 2026 SX, MX, and SMX series.
My guess is, they want a full gate, so if ET does not show, next up gets his gate etc.
Correct. Points earned during SX and MX only establish the points order when the (3) race series starts. So once Jett commits to the 450 class, his 250 points are no longer a factor.
And as far as injuries, yes, I believe the order just moves up and a position at the back of the points order is filled with a healthy privateer. They will still have to race the LCQ to qualify for the mains at each SMX event.
But they are seeded in with points to make the regular season worth something.
1st has 25 SMX points.
As of right now Jett is 7th in 250s, that seeds in with 14 points. He won’t stay there, but he will stay well within the top 20. Last place in all three SMX races would earn 6 points for a rider coming through the LCQ.
Tomac is currently 6th, he should stay in the top 10. So he will have points that seed him into the SMX races.
not that this money matters to the top guys, just wondering how it all works.
does anyone know if they are going to seed the top 20 in points, or the top 20 in points that show up?

Can some post a link explaining the points structure for each round? Someone told me it's double for round 2 and then triple points for round 3. That can't be correct!
Does anyone have a link?
Also, what is the format? Regular Supercross mains?
The point structure is correct.
The first playoff race is regular points. 25, 22, 20, 18, ..., 1
The second playoff race is double points. 50, 44, 40, 36, ..., 2
The final round is triple points. 75, 66, 60, 54, ..., 3
The format is two 20-minute +1 lap motos.
You are crazy if you don’t think the money matters to the top guys. Does Tomac need another million? Of course not but that’s not his successful people think.
Is it points per moto or overall for each event paid points?
Per overall.
Motos will be scored using the Olympic system.
I was more talking about 250 class for Jett, if he finished 20th which would be $5K. He’s not losing sleep over $5k.
in the 450 20th is $27K. More of a concern, but in the grand scheme of things when it’s 1% of what you make, you don’t trip over it. But A privateer would do a lot for $27K.
First off, Jett is not racing the 250 class, he is racing the 450 class.
Second it pays per event, as well as the combined points for the 3 race series.
So lets use Chase as an example:
Day 1 1st overall = $100K
Day 2 1st overall = $100K
Day 3 1st overall = $100K
SMX championship 1st overall = $1M
total earnings for 3 races = $1.3M
Yeah its worth the money and the title.
Not to mention the bonuses that he would receive for winning which would be another $1.3M+
If any rider that qualifies in the top 20 is injured and can't line up, that spot will remain empty/open and they'll take an additional rider from the LCQ race.
The lcqs will be wild if several more spots are available due to missing riders.
Wouldn't they be more wild when there are ~10 guys competing for just 2 spots?
I can hardly wait to hear RC explain this very simple structure they have come up with .
Pit Row
A thought just came to me.
In smx they are doing 2 motos. Lowest score. Then points are paid on overall. So 26 for 1st. 23 second. Etc.
In the final round you get triple points.
So if 1 rider goes 1-2 and the other goes 2-1. 1 rider gets 78 points the other 69 points but they had the same moto scores. I don't like that. In mx both get 47 points but they get different trophies.
The leader could have a 8 point lead. And go 1-2 and lose the smx play-offs. It should be on moto scores.
That's how it works in triple crowns, too.
If a rider wants to get more points then he should beat the other guy in the second moto.
It's not how mx works tho. And its ment to be a 2moto format to replicate the mx side.
I don't mind when it's standard points. But when it's triple points I think it weighs to much.
A rider could start 17 points infront.
Go 1-2, 1-2, 1-2 in the 3 play off's and lose.
I would much prefer to see 2 moto scores as the round results over Olympic scoring.
You need some way to break a tie.
Doesn’t seem right to me that a 5th place 450 rider gets the same as the 3rd place 250 rider. Way more difficult to get top 5 on the 450.
So, clearing a big booter triple right at the exit of a turn…in a stadium…is harder on a 450?
