a pirate with a peg-leg told me it's effectively FXR's version of Shift - so that's cool

Its Full Throttle Adrenaline an off shoot of FXR, there is some pretty cool colorways I have seen in it. The gear looks awesome.

A lot of FXR's stuff already seems pretty out there, like the "cotton candy clown suit" from last season.

Are they making FXR more restrained or making FTA even crazier?

Nice I like there stuff. I live about 20 min away from Their main headquarters in Manitoba canada. Will have to check out their store front soon here.

You only think that because you were raised by the system. 

Looking at that gear, it looks like regular FXR gear with a worse name. If you're going to do a spin-off, at least change the name more than FXR -> FTA. FTA also looks and sounds like a regulatory agency, definitely not a gear company.

In the judicial world, FTA = Failure to Appear.

FXD stuff looks good but I looked at some stuff at a shop.  I'd never buy it, was paper thin, no protection there.  Me and my kid would be torn through it in a ride or 2.
