Anyone have any experience with these and would like to share their feedback?

Been running Tech 7s for years and they have been great, but have one small issue... After a bit of stretch/break-in, I have to have the 2nd buckle from the foot tightened down all the way. Eventually the ankle area is a little too loose for my liking. It's seems like a strange fitment issue because I've never seen anyone mention this before. I don't have big enough cankles I guess Laughing.

I'm looking at other boots as well, but feedback on the Leatts are limited, so just want to hear more about them!

Very very confortable, good feel and grip on pegs and shift lever but not very durable. Went thru the sole pretty quick, had a little piece of plastic broke (where the red interchangeable flex thing is) and a buckle broke.

Buckle are super hard to clip back if there's any dirt or dust on them, so don't unbuckle them during riding day, that's how I broke one.

I had Forma Predator for many years before the leatt and went back to Forma predator 2.0 after one season in the leatt. I feel way more safe in the Forma, they're way more solid and durable. I twisted my ankle pretty bad twice in the leatt. (That can also just be bad technique and circumstances, but also, never happened in my Forma) I can go 3-4 season with the same soles on my Forma, my leatt lasted 15-20 hours

I didn't have the issue you have with the second buckle on your tech 7

So if comfort is your number one criteria, they're the best, I miss them for that, but good thing they're pretty cheap, cuz you're going to need a couple pair. I never owned alpinestar tho, so I can't compare if they're at least on par durability wise.

Just got my wife a pair a couple weeks ago she really likes them so far, we also got them for $200 looks like amazon has some sizes left, I think Leatt brought out some new colors this season so the old colors on closeout. For $200 bucks I think theyd be worth a gamble for you

The buckles are horrible. If they are dirty at all they won't lock unless you have a hammer and some water to pour on the buckles. Comfortwise they feel pretty good though.

Wow good lookin out! I'll try a pair for $200...

I appreciate everyone's feedback. I'm easy on soles for whatever reason so I'm not too concerned with that. For the buckles, I typically don't take my boots off until the end of the day so should be good. If I do, I'll pressure wash them before taking them off.

I bought a pair at Christmas for cheap, couple of us on here bought them on sale.  I’ve tried them on but that’s it, never been on the track.  I forgot I had them, saw them the other day behind the drivers seat in my Tahoe.  Anything behind the seat in a 2 door Tahoe is all but lost for good.

I bought a pair about midway through last season.  Michigan here so we pause for 5-6mo and I've had some unfortunate engine troubles which has limited some of my riding this season.

So I've got about ~25-30hrs on them. I have the grey JW22 version.

Here's what I heard and my comments on the rumor:

--Buckles suck - I've not experienced this. Not the best but I haven't had many issues so far.  No difficulty to open/close.  On occasion, the 2nd one has come unbuckled while riding.  The buckles suck thing hasn't been too much concern for me. I've heard wd-40 helps the buckle issue but I've not experienced a problem enough to spray em.

--Noisy/squeaky boots - Yep.  Confirmed 100%.  These dogs bark when you walk...err...squeak or whatever.  Smile I don't care much about this but definitely freakin loud walking around. Wonder if the wd-40 trick would quiet them down??? hmmm Unsure

--They let water in through the flexlock hinge thingy - I can't tell a difference between any other boot I've owned.  I ride in the woods a fair bit.  Up here in Michigan, the trails can get flooded, have large water holes, etc.  I have not noticed any water intrusion when the trails/track has been wet or just splashing through water puddles.  The boots did get soaked last time we trail rode but the water was up to/above the airbox so everyone had wet socks.

Generally speaking, these are the most comfortable boot I've owned out of the box. Previously a tech8 guy for many years (never owned 10's). No comparison. They are broke in a bit now, but still no issues comfort wise. There is no sign of needed another pair due to sole wear.  Geting pretty good durability. I'm thinking about ordering some  soon so I have another pair when the time comes.  For the price, the value is very well worth it.  2 thumbs/toes up on value.

I have about 80 hrs on mine. Sole is wore out. Buckles have been good.Stiff but good. Xtremely comfortable.  I will buy another pair. I have tech 10s as well. I rarely wear them as they are too dam hard to put on.  Lol.

I've had a few pairs of these boots over the last couple years. I agree, very comfortable,  no pinch spots and have a roomy toe box. The flex lock issue was a 1st production run pro lem that was fixed and didn't happen on my next few pairs. And the 4.5 is basically the same boot minus the flex lock feature. Buckles have been improved each year. Early ones did get notchy when dirty/muddy but not an issue on my latest.  I came off Sidi's and have always cleaned my boots and spray them with SC1. Keeps them from getting stained and helps with the buckles and noise. I've never felt a lack of protection with the Leatts or I wouldn't keep getting them.  I ride mostly off road and hammer them pretty good.  Hard to imagine burning through soles in 20 hours although everyone is different. I run sharp Ti ProPegs and get 70+.  I've been using their waterproof version the last few weeks since we've had a bunch rain and it's been nice coming back with dry socks.

Good boots for the price, the screws in the hinge kept pulling through the plastic.

I normally wear sidi's and tried the Leatt 5.5's a little while back because I too got them for $200. I thought they sucked compared to sidi's. They were super stiff, and heavier. I was able to sell them for what I paid for them so that was a positive.

That’s unfortunately what makes them not a good deal.  When the bolts pull through enough, they are trash.

Not hearing/reading about bolts pulling through anywhere else. And I never experienced this on the 8-10 pairs we've had. Anyone else have this issue?

Also interested in this.

I know what you mean, but any pics to support it would be appreciated.

Chrome burner has the Sidi atojo boots for $266. Trust me when I tell you they are the safest boots next to tech 10s.

I have had my atojos for three seasons they are still as stiff and as safe as needed. I’ve put 3 sets of soles on them in that time, so they are still ready to go.

Why chance it?  Switch to SG-12s and own top quality supportive boots that will last forever.

I'd consider them if they got rid of that stitched sole with the lip all the way around.
