Their pace was crazy! Yeah, I think they would have alittle something for Jett.

Are we now measuring by the gap to 7th place?
Just to cherry pick a similar result, Jett put 1:00 on Ferrandis (7th) in moto 1 at Thunder Valley.
Picked AP because he’s the only one racing then and now. Duh 🙄
Didn’t Ferrandis crash?

Not saying Eli and Chase wouldn't have something for Jett, clearly on the evidence we have they would, but that's just not a great comparison.
Impossible to compare unfortunately.
The only remotely close scenario would be Pala moto 2 where they pushed each other the whole race.
There they put 2:26 min on 7th place. And 45 sec on 3rd place, which is about the same as the Spring Creek one
Here's from stats from Pala this year:
Moto 1 - Ferrandis starts second behind Jett, slowly loses ground over the moto. Ferrandis finishes 17 sec down on Lawrence.
Ferrandis ave lap 2:30.1; Lawrence ave lap 2:29.1
Moto 2 - Ferrandis starts in 4th, Chase hounds Jett the whole way.
Ferrandis ave lap 2:30.4 (almost identical to moto 1). Jett ave lap 2:27.4 (2 sec per lap faster)
Jett drops 2 sec per lap to stay just ahead of Chase and ends up 44 secs ahead of Ferrandis at the finish.
Not that it's any comparison, but Chase and Eli were battling to the death.
Jett has no battle, he is cruising around looking at the scenery.
I just watched thunder Valley 21.
Ferrandis beat tomac by over 1 minute.
So if he lined up at pala 2. Jett would have beat tomac by 1.45 mins.
Nooo. It's just like football. Team a beats team b 24-0 . Team b beats team c 20-0. 2 weeks later team a vs team c. And team c wins. But history says they should have lost 44-0
That’s an even worse comparison. Ferrandis was healthy in 2021, he was far from healthy and fit at Pala. My Gawd, Chase had mono and a concussion and was still able to finish only 1 second behind at the checkers. and if we’re going to talk about Ferrandis, what happened in 2020 when both Jett and Ferrandis were healthy going for a championship? Haha that should get ya riled up.
Everyone needs a snickers around here. I knew exactly what you were getting at with your reference. The bigger point, which I agree with, is Chase and Eli could match Jett. What a bummer of a year. Jett moves up, what we're all waiting for, and ET and Chase are out. Across the pond Herlings down again. Boo!
RC lapped James Stewart in a race, just shows how dominant and faster he was and James would have never had a perfect season, had RC not retired to raise a family. Why you trying to poo poo how fast and dominant Jett's performance has been this year by saying if Tomac and Sexton were racing, they'd have a little something for him and he wouldn't have a perfect record right now. If Jett Lawrence had been racing in 2008 against James Stewart, he would have had a little something for him also. Whatta gotta say about that.
Lmfao how’d James get dragged into this?
again lmfao now that James is commenting almost full time, I bet you’re downstairs in your Moms basement just kicking over the TV every time James comes up. I can actually picture you getting all red face boiling over with anger. You can’t get rid of him! 😂😂😂
Can we all agree it's a damn shame Chase and Eli are both injured right now and we don't get to see a true comparison.. and maybe never will. If Chase switches to KTM next year who know if he will find that pace again. Eli might not race outdoors again.. Last years battle between those two was legendary and their pace was on another planet. It's hard to believe Jett is already running that pace, and to me, Jett beating a banged up Chase at Pala isn't really a fair shake. Just a bummer in general for us fans.
Are you factoring in all of the variables?
Start position? Tip-overs? Track condition? AP's 'form' this year to last?
You'll need to look at total time over the total laps for AP last year and compare to this year.
If Tomac is there, they are 1.30 up at the end of the moto on 3rd.
My point wasn’t about Ferrandis, I just picked him as a reference point because he turned almost identical lap times between moto 1 and 2.
It was interesting because Jett was able to drop 2 secs per lap between moto 1 and 2 when he had to.
Pit Row
all i know is if the sumbitch goes 24-0 he gets the biggest asterick in the history of the sport as he has exactly zero competition and I'll shake my fist in rage for him to earn such a prestigious accolade in such a stupid situation.
😂
Mighty big “if” but if he does it you’re downplaying all the other factors that have to go right for an undefeated season - good starts, no mistakes, no injuries, no mechanicals - for a whole season.

The depleted field and injuries makes the gap between Jett and everyone else look more impressive IMHO. I think we all knew coming into the outdoors prior to Eli and Chase getting hurt, it would be Eli, Chase, and Jett battling. Those 3 would have been on a different level and Chase in Pala Moto 2 proved just that. We won't get to see how Eli would have factored into the equation. Now we just have to wait for Chase to get back to 100% and battle Jett, and people please realize that if he's not right there with Jett on his first race or 2 after coming back not to panic. The guy is coming off a concussion and recovering from mono which can be brutal on the lungs. I'm hoping by the last 4 rounds of the outdoors, it's back to business as usual for Chase battling with Jett. I don't expect anyone else to come close to their speed, just like in years past with all the other greats like JS, Ricky, Eli, etc. when they were at their best.
Why is bench racing so much less fun on the internet
I will guarantee that won't happen....
Every mofo in the top 10 had an injury of some kind in the past 2 months. Season is porked
