Liquid IV and a snack of some sort. Combination of carbs and protein. My biggest thing is not to just sit and wait.

20+ years ago when I was racing it was just watered down Gatorade with a banana along with a small portion of scrambled eggs and a plain baked potato.  I always raced 2 classes so I would have just about a fistful amount of food between each moto so you keep the energy coming in but never feel full.  Sports nutrition has come a long ways since then but it worked great for me.

Small amounts of food and water between Motos seems sensible. Everything else, except for events that are greater than 90mins seems unscientific.

Johnny O’Mara was probably giving Jett chewing gum to give him something to do while he waits 😂

To this day I have never had more energy after two motos at Glen Helen.

Im genuinely surprised more people don’t do it, but maybe it only has that strong of an effect on those of us that aren’t in the best shape!

I was in the RX the other day and they had bottled Ox at the counter...started me a thinkin'

A wise old man once said real racers don't eat on raceday 🤣

A thread that is actually valuable and offers some insight. Definitely the exception around here lately. 😂.  Thanks for all the tips and tricks guys.

If you want to learn about recovery just listen to a TrainerRoad cycling podcast. Cyclists are 10x more nerdy and knowledgeable about proper nutrition and competition than even pro moto guys. For how much money is in our sport there is very little education on nutrition compared to any other sport. Johnathan Lee is an ex moto guy and friends with Brayton and is one of the hosts of the podcast. Basic stuff like ice on the inside of your wrists and inside mod your thigh to drop body temp etc is very overlooked at the amateur level but can help a lot. You should be eating 20-40 grams of simple carbs the second you can between motos
