From the amount of passing going on I am sure they were asked to make things interesting. Having been in a few match races on my speedway bike I know this sometimes happens.

Man that looks fun!
Ryder Ds dad is an old speedway guy and got RV hooked on it.
I’ll never understand why speedway isn’t more popular in the US. There should be tracks like Costa Mesa all over the country.
I agree, it’s crazy all out racing.

That looks like a blast...
If you are coming to Hangtown Fast Fridays runs Speedway at the Auburn fairgrounds about 30 minutes from the track and a straight shot from Folsom. Speedway is a ton of fun.
When they have motocross bikes on the speedway at Costa Mesa it’s called Knobby night they have to have a knobbie tire to race in the dirtbike class. It’s intended to be chaos! Haha
I went on my last visit (and to Costa Mesa) and it was an absolutely fantastic evening out, I caught up with some of the guys who previously raced here which was awesome, highly reccomended!
Id love to see these guys on 500cc Speedway bikes
Seriously, if you're going to carouse and drink beer the night before a motorcycle race, why would you not do it at a motorcycle race? There's nice old school fairgrounds vibe on what's likely to be a nice warm evening (disclaimer, I'm not involved with FF apart from enjoying the racing when I can get up there).
