Guys please have a thought for Tim Potisek one of the best Euro beach race specialist who passed away today after not surviving the injury to his spinal cord he suffered on the weekend. Tim was a favourite for the biggest Euro sand race Le Touquet which usually see sand specialist fight for the win with top GP riders like Pichon in a two hour race. He also scored some good points in GP sand races this year.
I had just been picked by Yamaha to be thei official rider this year and had a bright future in front of him. He crashed while training this weekend for the Touquet.
Very sad news just after J.Marmont Tragedy.

Horrible news, my thoughts are with his family and friends.
I wonder he wore a Leatt or similar?

Yes he was from a true MX family with his brother racing as well.
RIP Tim
He was almost 2 minutes behind a lap before and the announcers don't even notice him before he passes Arnaud.
This is after 3 hours of intense racing and Tim is the fastest guy out there, although Demeester's incredible ressources allow him to dive inside and pass Potisek back under the bridge.
Tim was 25, just married, his father, older broher and twin brother all race(d) and Rudy (the father) runs a Honda dealership in north of France.
Tim had just signed with Yamaha France for the beach races after Demeester's retirement and the crash happened while he was testing the new YZF450.
Those events are a big deal here (250K spectators at Le Touquet) and he was clearly dominating them.
Needless to say, the French MX community is devastated by the tragic news.
The beach race season is just getting started, there are 1000's of people racing those events and when the best guy gets hurt that bad, everyone feels all of a sudden very insecure.
In memory of Tim, enjoy the most exciting finish in the history of this unbelievable race :
