hi everyone,
I’m Marc, 30 years old in 3 days lol, I live in France. Passionate about Honda, probably because of one of my uncles who owns a honda store lol.
I started with a 2007 CR 125 with only 10H. a big regret to have sold it... I then ride another motorcycle, RM 125, YZ 125, CRF 250... then I bought again a CR 125 2002 then CR 125 2007 that I also sold because I could no longer ride a motorcycle.
I open this topic for share the passion for Honda 2 strokes 2000's that I prefer,
Have Nice days everyone.
PS: sorry for my bad english
For some reason I’m a bigger fan of the 2000-01 Gen vs the 02-07 Gen. Love that whole era though!
2000-2001 CR250 was a well loved bike. Much better dialed stock than the 2002 -. I still recall guys being pretty upset with their 2002's and some not wanting to give up their 2001's. I also still recall getting the recall letter in the mail for my 2002 for the dumbass airbox/airboot setup. "Please bring your bike back to the dealer so we can seal your airbox with RTV"... lol
Here my first Honda CR 125 2007 <3

My second CR 125 2003* not 2002

CR 125 2002, look vintage.

I loved my 2006. Bought it for like $1000 to get back into riding, hopped right back into racing harescramble with it and blew it up. Put a new OEM crank, cylinder, Piston ETC in it and ran the piss out of it for another 2-3 years, won a championship on it. Only new parts it really ever got were the $50 eBay graphics, grips, and pistons when need be. It was a great bike to ride and race for fun and I really regret selling it. The guy who bought it restored it to OEM spec even with OEM bars and all.
Just wait until you meet my buddy Profeshenal.
the most iconic factory CR 125, Travis Preston Bike

the frame is not amazing .. but the 2000-01 engine was good.
the honda is an economical motorcycle lol, $1000 for her, it’s a good deal.it is a reassuring and great bike to ride.
CR 125 2000 replica Steve Lamson

Nice find. I saw Lammy & McGrath in 91 racing at Millville. The peak bikes sounded so Killer. Lamson,s 96 was the highest reving 125 I ever heard. If all goes as planned . I,ll be testing pipes . Pc , hgs, Messico & fmf which I hv. And pick the quickest responding. I had FC revalve for whoops & I can ride whoops pretty good. I wanted a quick responding engine with a strong & long mid. Engine should be good for AX. I pretty much have the tag as the fastest 04 cr125 rider in the world. Haha I kinda stole that from 94 mxon Emig. His plan was I,m the fastest 125 rider in the world , so get ready.
This one is beautiful
Holy shit ape hangers! Nice bike pro
I had a 2000 CR250 that was built by VPE and hands down was my favorite bike I owned.
Pit Row
All I remember about the 97-01 1st gen aluminum frames is seeing Ezra Lusk crashing really hard.
I owned an 03 and it handles really well
Hi Marc.
I've got an '06 CR125 with very low hours (still has the original tires... seriously). I love the handling, suspension and weightless feel it has. The engine is fun but lacking compared to my '06 YZ125 and the 5-speed tranny is also a bit limiting, but considering I only ride for fun nowadays, it's not like it's handicapping me.
I also have an '03 CR250 and had the cylinder base machined to lower the ports (and the head modified, obviously) and that made a big difference in the low-end power. Much easier to ride off-road now.
Enjoy your CRs because Honda's probably never gonna make a 2T again (and that's a shame). Great bikes.
I had an '03. So many issues with that bike but it served me well. I was racing in the woods so that led to some of the destruction. It got me some wins though. Always loved that look!
I own a pair of '00 CR250's. My son and I absolutely love them and don't think I'll ever part with either.
We do a bunch of practice track days each year, and we just did a top end, clutch, sprockets, tires and Factory Connection suspension on my son's because he'll do a few races with it this season as well.
Great bikes.
A pair of 07s here.
Funny that I just read a "retro test" in MXA on the 2007 Honda CR125...the final year.
Big 2-stroke fan here... lots of beauties in this thread.
BTW - never apologize about "bad english" my friend. At least you know a 2nd language, unlike many of us Americans.
Here is mine. I sold my other bikes in Japan, but shipped this one back from Japan when I moved back to the States as I couldn't part with her. She has gained a few HRC parts in recent years. I remember when Honda brought several pre-production 2002 CR250's to the Honda track in Saitama for their support riders to tryout. They also had a new 2001 CR250 there to compare back to back. My first impression was that I liked the frame a little better than my 2001 and the front brake was a little better along with better valving in the front fork, but I absolutely thought the engine was a huge step backwards.. like riding a very health 125 with no hit anywhere in the powerband, but with better high rpm torque than a 125. There was no torque at low rpm for doing small doubles out of a corner and the motor felt like a sewing machine it was so hitless. I had no desire to give up my 2001 after that test ride. The issues with the 2001 were the very harsh mid-stroke valving in the fork, the carb jetting and a little tingle in the handlebars, only felt when hit things like supercross woops, square edges. The frame made the bike feel super stable and planted. I fixed the forks with a Showa works kit, put brass inserts into the bars, and got the magic jetting specs for the finicky Mikuni from the Honda factory team and all was 100% resolved. Best bike of all time for me.
Loved my 2000 CR250! Gee if only honda would make a bad ace two smoke again. Que the dreamy background sound effects!
I think the same for the CR 125 with a retro look.
how it is possible to ride with a CR 125 that has only 5h, heading to the salon.
you’ve already opened the engine to see the work done?
I hope your wounds are better!
pay attention to the work, hoping that you will be able to return all the necessary money.
one for ride, one for the living room. it's perfect lol
do you have some picture of your CR's ?
the honda CR is safe bike, just need 6 gear.. but for rivaled with the new YZ, SX and co it's over but for pleasur it's fantastic.
the CR 250 is softer now with this modification ?
look new
