This right here. Price for new exhaust are crazy, you want to turn out crap like that sell it for $250, you want to charge $1k for “hand made in USA” take some pride and reject crappy welds and fitment issues. Are the ones defending this quality actually buying these products and are happy with them? Pretty sure little D isn’t going to send you a free pipe for defending his companies honor

So you have a few people bitching about FMF on the internet and a pic of a weld that isn't pretty so that makes the company and its owners not prideful of their products? I swear some of you in the Vital mafia just have to have something to bitch about. I do not expect Donny or Jr to send me anything for defending them.

I, along with thousands of others have had very satisfying experiences from a quality and performance standpoint to defend FMF products. To whine about fucking ugly welds on a dirtbike exhaust is pretty damn funny. Yes, parts for bikes are not cheap but, in all honesty, if you feel like everyone is getting ripped off from this anti-pride USA company then why don't you invest and start your own exhaust company and offer it to the public for less than an OEM system with better performance?!?

Oh, for the record, we have ran PC exhaust as well and every one of their welded-on badges were falling off in no time. Did that lead me to complain about poor craftsmanship on Vital and claim Mitch didn't take pride in his products? Nope the exhaust performed as expected so I could care less about the PC badge being on there.

Many won’t admit it but part of the reason for upgrading exhaust is for the bling factor. It’s been proven that in most cases OEM performs just as good if not better than aftermarket. If you are going to put a premium on your product put out a premium product. Sorry calling a spade a spade hurts your feelings, but the quality control is lacking on the parts pictured.

Man, I've only been in this sport for 30 years, but I guess I've been super lucky to not have one single PC badge fall off a pipe.

"Every one of their welded-on badges" fell off for you, huh? Let's just go ahead and lie to try to make a point.

lol Idk why you are so defensive over this comment, I am just telling you my first hand, most recent experience purchasing one of their products. Also, it was out of stock for MONTHS before that. Anyways, I just think if you are charging top dollar for your product it should fit together when you take it out of the box. I've been using FMF since 2003 lol I have also had PC pipes on a couple two strokes. FMF just seems to have had a drop in quality control in recent years.

Yes I do ride and ride a lot, But when I open up my new works pipe and a part of the draw is the aesthetic welds, and they look like some blind dude welded them with his feet, it's not really acceptable. Sure it may work, but damn, take some pride in your work. Some of you guys have low standards and that's why garbage shit keeps selling.

Lol, works?

This pipe is half the price of stock.

Dirty Points. More like Shitty Points, which yours is. They have been called works or raw finish forever. You one of the crappy FMF welders there bud? Seem to be kinda upset people just ask for a quality product. It is possible to have good welds, that's what the debate is about. It's a visual thing, same reason people buy nice jeans and all that bs. I just choose to dress my bikes up.

FIrst off, I've seen plenty of dirty points on a dirtbike, but never shitty ones. If so, I'd probably handle them the same say as always: spray cleaner and sandpaper.

Secondly: it is a cosmetic issue (to you) on a mid-budget product. If you don't want it, send it back. Billy was fine enough with it to post an Insta and fucking haul ass on it.

It’s on BBs works Husky, so calling it a works part is fair. And the welds are pretty ugly..

Sorry bud, I'm not lying. Two 85's and a supermini. Well, one weld on the supermini expansion did hold so I guess one out of three is not bad. I have no issues with the PC craftsmanship and those pipes worked well for right in the middle power which is where my son liked to ride. I've also been in the sport for over 30 years. I've had DG (minis), R&D, FMF, PC and even one of the shitty Cobra systems and I've had pretty good luck out of all of them.

Not hurting my feelings at all. As a business owner I know how shitty it can be for people to talk shit without ever contacting the company about any complaints. This is Vital which means people are going to bitch about anything so if nothing else it is a comical read to say the least.

I've had a welded on badge fall off a factory fatty, does that count?

I can post a pic, it's in the trunk of my car, along with another factory fatty that just came back from the pipe repair shop that welded all the cracks for me.

They shouldn’t have to contact the company. The company should have competent QA that would not let garbage product be released into commerce.

I'd go with the company making MotoGP and superbike exhaust over anything else.

I have a full Akra Ti system on my 250F. That thing is a work of art. I questioned my sanity spending $1,200 on an exhaust but no regrets whatsoever.

To be fair, the product in the OP was not released into commerce and for all we know they purposely send the ones with shitty welds to the Extreme guys cause they know they have about a 3-4 day max life span anyway....

Could be. Point is still fair though, shit happens from time to time but standards should exist to protect a companies reputation.
