With a good deal of the factory boys out for MX I say make it the year of the privateer!  There are some cool kids out there racing with great personalities.  My new favorite rider is Matt Burkeen, not only is he on a 2-stroke but he made some great videos covering Arenacross last winter.  List some more of these unsung heroes!  Let's get to know some of them!

Some of the top privateers are SX only so they will not be there.

Great time for the new 1st year Pros to come in and show what they can do.

A number of the factory guys have skipped the end of the SX season but will be back for Pala or a couple races in at the latest.

Round 1 is going to be great for those 450 guys who are on the bubble of making the motos, and a great opportunity for the 11th-20th place dudes to maybe grab some top 10s.

Statistically this is true.

I wonder what new names will have 2-digit numbers next year...

Would love to see what Carson Brown could do with a full season on that Pro Circuit YZ 250.

Hoping Walker can have a good season.  Really pulling for fellow Kansan Moranz.  Interesting about Moranz, his supercross starting prowess does not seem to translate to outdoors.  That just because of the longer starts so the factory guys' advantage is even more so?

Would love to see Jeremy Hand get in there and mix it up!

Totally. I just hope the broadcasters shine light on these privateers now that it's more likely they'll crack the top 20. Chances are they'll still focus on the small batch of factory dudes the entire time.

Seems like there is always a guy who steps up and runs pretty close to the front consistently all Summer outta "nowhere"....I'm thinking guys like Rodbell, Gracyck, Henry Miller etc. etc. that have put together good runs over the years.

Who will that be this year?

Rules need changed! Carson should be able to ride his yz300 or a 300sx. It definitely wouldn't be a dumb move by Yamaha or KTM to help him out for a season on a 250 2stroke. With this depleted 450 group he'd finish well. There should be a lot of different privateers making Moto's and getting points.

I really hope Sexton, Jett and Ferrandis can stay healthy and battle all season. Barcia could be in it and hopefully AC can catch fire and be in the mix to. I'm bummed Roczen isn't doing MX.
