just got home from glen helen. the track got brutal and i didn't train for it. but i had fun. i rode in the 60+ expert class both days. 30+ women started with us; they ain't no slouches. i passed jody weisel three times. he passed me four. i finished 10 out of 10 both motos on saturday. my hands were numb on lap three. saturday night we went to the tony d awards show. lots of old schoolers there. on sunday, i skipped practice. the first moto i got a pretty good start and worked my way to the back. i had a pretty good dice going with bengt johannsen until i jammed my foot in a hole and i was done. didn't ride moto 2. we left after watching ryan hughes beat dubach by 1 min 11 secs in moto 1. five riders from arkansas made the trip. the rider that won the +70 was my old buddy from oklahoma, Mr. Jimmy Redwine. i guess i need to quit drinking beer at least three weeks before next year's race. dbm
You guys are what motocross is all about. Keep up the great riding!
Funny stuff, Mike! Thanks for the report. I got kinda worried about you when I read the results and saw the DNS....I hope your foot heals quick.

Sunday I harpooned Rocket88 's lower fork guard with my back brake pedal. Had a nice chat at the top of Mt St Helens while we tried to unook the bikes.
Yeah, CD that was weird for sure! At leat we had a nice view from the top of St. Helen's!
After my day racing Sunday I was just glad to make it home without my toy hauler blowing up or to be greeted at home with weasels wanting to rip my flesh!
But, I'm over it now. Can't wait 'till next year!
Did they give you guys the full downhills or just part of them?
I was pleasantly surprised at how full the pits were.
Race-FULL downhills.
GForce-Great meeting you on Friday.
Moe-Glad our paths crossed.
One of the reason you got pulled at the start is your OEM muffler is empty. Rick Johnson at Too Tech gave me his muffler the week before the Old Timers International. Here is his report after the event:
Thank you for repacking the silencer on my 2008 CRF450R last week. The timing could not have been better with the Old Timers National at Glen Helen 2 days later. The motor performed very well with a noticeable improvement to mid range throttle response and acceleration out of 'lower' speed turns. I also pulled the first 4 hole shots in the 50 Master Class. (Which included a Marie Calendars Pie gift certificate for hole shot #4). I have to assume the improved low to mid speed power and throttle control contributed to my concrete surface starts. It’s hard to guage specific top end power improvements but I definitely ran away on the top end as well. Unfortunately I can’t say I won the National because Tracy Hrack and Dave Eropkin are about as fast as they get in the 50 year olds, but third was respectable. Additionally my bike was quieter and did not backfire when chopping the throttle closed – both welcome changes.
