I seriously think you guys need to get over the cherrypicking thing.

J-Law came back and defended his West Coast title this last year, and Canard switched to the West after winning his East title. Was that cherrypicking?

There's no doubt that Christophe Pourcel's an interesting character. And he may not be everyone's cup of tea. But the times I've talked to him he's generally not shy about telling you what's on his mind.

You also don't have to care for the guy to respect what he's already done, what he's overcome, and what he could do in the future.

Good call on pourcels part to stay on the 250f.
Win another title maybe, and try to get that outdoor title as well.

Who cares about Pourcel, what are your plans for 2010? I was bummed when I heard Wilson got your ride. You are way more gnar.

Barcia has lots of speed but over a series he can't beat Pourcel. He showed very little proof during the outdoors. The only thing that can beat pourcel is his bike. Ask Dungey!!! The best guy did not win the lites title this summer.

Wasn't that his first full season of outdoors in the US? Bit of a rough call.

Another season in the 250f class would be great and is the right decision IMO.

Barcia has to get some consistent results. His raw speed is crazy and I am extremely impressed but it doesn't count for anything at the pro level unless he can be on the podium every week.

I hope Barcia has awesome season, though.

Thats true - he's so good and mature it feels like hes been racing in the States for 3 years. I know he did a couple of random SX races... But still, awesome debut season.

Hoping Tommy Searle can get his shit together this season too and ride to his full potential.

Remember, Barcia turned 16 and wasn't expected to maintain his speed against Dungey or Pourcel. As the season progressed, Barcia showed that he could hold his pace against Dungey. Not too bad for a rookie season. I have to disagree with you. The Best guy not only won the 250f outdoor title he also lead the USA to another Motocross of Nations win aboard a 450f. Pourcel's speed is unquestionable. However, he's been beat before and there will be more riders than just Barcia challenging Pourcel for the 2009 Supercross and Outdoor titles.

Pourcel is lucky to be walking much less winning titles.

To call him a cherry picker is disrespectful.

Nobody is going to beat Pourcel next year! Not even Barcia.

Hell, Pourcel is a seasoned Pro racing guy's who are just a few years or less removed from the amatuer scene. He should win.

As much as I respect the guy's ability, his arrogance is over the top and his personality is equateable to drying paint. He's the kind of guy who give's the French a bad name. I guess they all can't be as cool as DV.

CP was partially disabled when he began the 09 season.

Amazing and he will only do better this next year, after more recovery. His competition should be worried.

All the better for we fans!Cool

Ohh GuyB's got a little bromance going on with Pourcel?

Seriously, they are all pro classes let pros ride what they want to ride. They need a feeder series for the youn up n' comers now besides AM championships. maybe a specific first and second year pro class with slightly shorter motos or something for the out doors and keep the arenacross series for the SX season.

It would be a lot easier to accept if he didn't call Dungey out for being a pu3453y for racing smart in the last moto last year then choose to stay where he knows there really isn't any competition for him next year. So I guess cherry picker isn't really an inaccurate statement and I guess if he's going to call other people names for being a pu33y then he should probably MAN UP.

Couldn't agree more! This CP is faster deal has been beaten to death but if you go back and look at your tivo recordings of all the races you will see that RD was fastest in practice and the race on several occasions plus he ran down and passed CP at least two times which CP never was able to do to RD. When CP won he got the hole shot and took off alone to the flag. At Millville RD ran away from CP the only time they started near each other both moto's. When CP tried to run RD's pace in one moto, he crashed.

If CP would have raced hard in all his races and not given up when he thought he did not have a chance at the win he could have earned enough points to be champion! He simply gave up which RD has never done, even if he is laying on the ground in the first turn he gets up and charges to the front! CP is a good rider but the best rider did in fact win, all you need to do is take a close look moto by moto, throw in the best charges after falling and the overall best man is Dungey! IMO of courseSmile

Bromance? I wouldn't go that far.

I know Christophe won't like the comparison, but I do remember going to races back in the day being in awe of JMB's speed and riding style. And then sitting in the stand listening to fans boo him, equally amazed. It was weird to experience then, and I hope it's not repeating itself now.

Can't wait for the off season to end.

Not sure why a bunch of people that only know anything about these guys from watching TV and reading magazines think they actually know anything about them.

WGAS if CP called out Dungey? They can settle it on the track. Dungey got his titles and his MXdN win.

We have a great season to look forward to in both classes and on both coasts. It's stacked with talent and hungry riders. On paper, 2010 looks to be the best race season we've seen in years.

I have never seen him (Barcia) on a supercross track.. He tends to have a style (WFO) that doesnt work out in the long run....I hope he can make it through supercross... Pourcel will have little competition in supercross IMO... Outdoors he will have his hands full...That is if Barcia makes it through SX in one piece.........

How do you "cherry pick" a Pro class?

Either way, I think that Pourcel is going to mop the floor with the field this coming year, that is if he is closer to being 100% this coming year than he was this past season. That's just MHO.
