Meanwhile in south africa
Farm attacks and murders remain horribly brutal (thesouthafrican.com)
Crime in South Africa - Wikipedia
that shooting in Alabama, like all other recent ones, is tragic.
but the world in general is a hard and dangerous place.
I will take our statistics over South Africa's, or Mexico's, anyday.
At the same time I will hope somebody can come up with a solution that could actually address the situation other than ripping up the constitution.
The reasons our forefathers put that in are as real and relevant today as they were then.
Every week there’s another mass shooting. Our response is the exact same every time. We just shrug our shoulders and say there’s nothing we can do. Meanwhile, children just continuously die at alarming rates. It’s sad. It’s pathetic. I can’t imagine losing a kid and then watching our politicians say there’s nothing we can do. Here’s some thoughts and prayers though.
Inept, corrupt president in bed with China, weaponized FBI, IRS, Dept of Justice raiding homes, IRS agents show up at peoples houses on dates to testify in front of Congress, federal government paying social media to censor dissenting voices and political opponents, wide open borders and drugs and criminals flooding in, NIH out of control forcing populace to be guinea pigs in experimental drugs or be fired or lose careers while literally shutting down legitimate discussion on alternative treatments, on and on and on.
The reasons for the 2nd Amendment is more relevant than it ever has been.
The propensity for violence ensues when people lack the skills needed for effective dialogue. Most people lack to skills to effectively communicate and also comprehend.
To get to the root of the problem one must recognize the issue is a sociocultural one. The mechanism for change is a philosophical one and most people lack the skills and clarity needed for meaningful philosophical dialogue.
I’m not a “gun person”; but guns don’t kill people, people kill people. So why are people so quick to kill people?
Get to the root of the issue. Your politicians are not going to save you.

The tommy gun was an automatic weapon with a large magazine...but men (or men dressed as women) didn't walk into single room school houses in the 1930's and shoot places up. So what changed?
For 40 years, government, MSM, and now social media have pushed their shit onto the people. It started with the political correctness bullshit, attacking masculinity, removing personal responsibility for the circumstances in your own life, participation trophies, villainizing success, and now forcing 5 year olds to pick from 137 genders.
Now we have mass confusion, we've sterilized independent thought, we've socially-neutered 2 generations of men and emasculated the rest, and if you're under 35 year old you've been raised with a screen in front of you and you likely have no ability for emotional regulation.
But the laws of nature still apply, no matter how convoluted "they" have made you think - you're still a man with testosterone flowing through your body. There is a piece of you desiring achievement, success, abundance, and to thrive as we've evolved to be, but they've forced you to push all of the positive traits of masculinity deep down inside you to follow their rules - for some people, they lack the ability or means to figure it out and shit hits the fan internally.
Unfortunately, I don't think a gun law is going to change anything. It's going to take at least one generational cycle of real positive change if we choose to do something right now, because this is all on us. We, as adult aged males, have allowed the tail to wag the dog for too long. We've been silent allowing all this garbage to swirl around us. It's on us to set the tone and the examples for our boys and young men to follow - to be strong, confident, calm, centered men that respond in alignment with purpose rather than constantly reacting to all the manipulation around us.
Nut jobs will do what nut jobs do, regardless of what is available to them to do it with. If we were to devolve back to the technological and societal level of cave men, our politicians would be trying to outlaw rocks instead of dealing with the mental issues of the offending nut jobs.
It's not that Democrats hate guns. It's that they like to make it easier for murderers to do their thing. It has been seen for decades. They have been so unhappy since Slavery was taken away from them .
Never thought I would say this but even Bill Clinton would be a big improvement right now.
What’s the correlation between the gunmen involved and big pharma’s psychotropic meds?
"almost becoming a weekly thing"
Isn't it happening at least weekly?
Crazy as it sounds,
But nothing in my arsenal has ever jumped up and committed a mass shooting.
But then again, despite what my gang of downvote follers think, I'm not some mentally deranged S.O.B.
And that's just what the problem is.
Mentally deranged individuals.
We all agree. Don’t you think it would be great not to let mentally deranged folks have easy access to firearms?
Nothing in my arsenal would be any different if I had to jump through a few more hoops to get them.
*Daily on average.
Over 600 a year for the past 3 years.
146 this year alone and today is day 106 of 365.
Yeah, that's what I thought, but the, "almost becoming a weekly thing" gave me a little pause.
I don't see any logical reason why those numbers will drop any time soon.
Don’t forget… there were over 100,000 murders by fentanyl last year. But fixing that doesn’t further the left’s goals.
For the record, I would be totally for a way to keep guns out of the hands of the nut jobs who are doing this…
BUT, how do you know for sure which ones to keep from getting the gun? You might keep the law abiding person that would stop the mass shooting from getting one while putting the gun in the offender’s hands. Minority Report was fiction..
I guess we just TRUST the Gubment???
In my neck of the woods I can only hope to be shot. It's way better than the machete or the "african necklace"
Gone are the good ol days.
"Violence among children has soared across the country since 2020, a stark reversal of a decades long decline in juvenile crime.
In the U.S., homicides committed by juveniles acting alone rose 30% in 2020 from a year earlier, while those committed by multiple juveniles increased 66%. The number of killings committed by children under 14 was the highest in two decades, according to the most recent federal data.
One consequence is a mounting toll of young victims. The number of juveniles killing other juveniles was the highest it has been in more than two decades, the 2020 federal data show."
yeah, just keep blaming the guns...
I saw that Teen Takeover in the news. The city needs to impose a curfew and anyone found breaking that curfew should ne hosed down with rubber bullets.
To much anarchy and law Enforcement has their hands tied. It appears that the scum of society has more rights.
Pit Row
This is on gun culture.
Not only are they too widely available, but the historic nature of it has it becoming more acceptable to more and more of the wrong people to just handle your problems with a gun. It's a two fold thing. All countries have mental health issues. No other has gun death issues like this.
Show me a government "hoop" that has ever worked.
From guns, to DUI's, drug wars, to controlling our southern border.
All of their "hoops" are completely ignored by anyone choosing to do so.
And now everyone is expecting them to do something about the mentally ill ??
Society has changed in the ways mentioned above. But what has also changed is access to firearms. Manufacturing and distribution has skyrocketed since the 1930s, literally without restriction. Access to anything, whether basketballs or guns, will increase the usage of those things. It’s simple statistics, really.
Ever notice the uptick in shootings is date coincident with the increase in people taking Psychiatric meds? It's not surprising as they give the warning that it may cause one to commit murder and/or suicide. The problem is that so many people take them it's hard I would imagine to consider that they may send one around the bend with no notice. I predict that this will continue to be ignored and thing will continue to get worse.
There has been easy access to guns my entire life. And I’m old.
How do you explain that these mass shootings didn’t start back in the 50s or 60s?
It correlates with the advance in drugs (prescription and otherwise) and the downfall of the traditional family. I know there have been drugs that far back as well, but not the crap that’s out there now.
When God is asked “why didn’t you protect the children from Columbine and the other school shootings?” He answered “I’m not allowed in school anymore”.
We have a much larger problem than guns.
We have a Godless society problem.
Being illegal to drink and drive has saved thousands of lives. You think if it were legal then the same amount of people would die?
You say the southern border is wide open, and you believe Congress should enact legislation to make it more difficult for people to cross illegally. Yet you fail to see your own hypocrisy when applying that exact logic to firearms. “Criminals will break the law anyway! Laws only punish the law abiding!” Alright why have any laws at all then? People on the right seem to believe the solution to abortion is to ban it. The solution to drag queens in libraries is to ban them. The solution to TikTok is to ban it. The solution to some books is to ban them. Yet when it comes to any firearm legislation at all, it’s, “Criminals will break the law anyway. So what’s it matter?”
Let’s just take the last paragraph…
Yes, we say if you ban guns, only the criminals will have guns. That means the law abiding citizens WON’T have guns to protect themselves.
I don’t think many of us will start performing drag shows to protect ourselves against drag queens.
I’m not sure if you realized your … umm … irony??? here in your statement. But anyway, 6 people, including 3 children, were murdered in a Christian school recently. They prayed every day in class and God was a huge part of their curriculum. He was definitely there in school and it didn’t matter.
Correlation? I have a correlation for you right here.
I don’t believe any single thing is a causation, just so we are clear. I truly believe we are in the perfect (or imperfect?) storm, with the internet, gun availability, advanced weaponry, and mental health all contributing to these awful tragedies. It’s something the Founders could have never foreseen. As I have stated before though, every other first world nation also deals with all those issues I stated, except one. Guns. And they don’t have mass shootings in their countries like we do. We can acknowledge how amazing the Founders were and also acknowledge they can’t see the future and they could have gotten some things wrong. Not only white male property owners can vote now, for instance, and slavery is no longer legal. I highly doubt they would want the 2A to be so absolute that we can’t put measures in place to drastically reduce the amount of horrible people getting their hands on a firearm.
I’ve never advocated for a ban. Ever. Nor will I ever. Or a confiscation. I used those examples because the right does seem to think that legislation against things does work and makes them more difficult to do/obtain. I want everyone, which includes law abiding and non law abiding, to have to jump through a few more hoops to get firearms. So the horrible people have to slip through a few more cracks, which will prevent many from obtaining one. Maybe they have a change of heart while trying to get one. Or maybe they get arrested for a different crime while trying to obtain one. Meanwhile, the law abiding citizens might be annoyed they have to do a couple more things, but they will still be able to buy their firearm the same as they always have. I think we all hate sitting at the DMV and it’s annoying when you turn 16 and are a great driver, yet you still have to officially pass the driver’s test to get your license. But we understand that it’s necessary to make our roads much safer and save thousands of lives yearly.
Not seeing many details about what happened in Dadeville.
They say the shooter is no longer a threat. They get arrested? Who was it?
That mob video has nothing to do with gun culture but it certainly has to do with ghetto culture. This feels like a Thomas Sowell moment
We dont have a gun problem, we have a people/culture problem. If you cant see that, theres no fixing you also.
In my day the entire school parking lot looked like this with doors unlocked and windows down, and no one even thought about using it on someone much less did it. Wanna fix this issue, put as much effort and concern into the breakdown of family and the complete shit culture the USA has devolved into, and you will get your result.
