taken from proride.com sleeter posted this up

"I recieved an e-mail from Husky this morning regarding the post I made about Michael crashing In Italy. I guess I was given bad info when I arrived at the track and the bike did not break. I want to say I'm so very sorry to Husqvarna for saying there bike broke. I should have never posted anything about a rider who had a crash if didn't know the whole story. Below is from Husky

Below is from Husqvarna

Dear Mr. Sleeter

We found out that you posted the following post on a USA forum called www.proride.com:

Since NOTHING happened to our bike and/or no technical problem was the result of Michael Hall’s crash, we’d like to understand:

1) Were you there at the track? There was NOBODY there.

2) You mention “one of the locals”. Kindly report name/surname of this source.

3) What kind of proof you have that can confirm your post

If what you have said and wrote is NOT TRUE, but just the result of a rumor, or an idea you have on what happened, then we ask you to write a further post to apologize to us.

We are also considering to proceed through our legal department in this case.

Because of that right there, I will never consider buying a Husky again! In the past I had, but not now.

Husky has some damn good looking bikes out these days and obviously are trying to protect an image they've attempted to restore. I can understand their position.....to a point. At least they aren't trying to shut down the little beermaker on the corner. Hell, someone was wanting Yamaha to sue me the other day when I called their 2010 YZ450 heavy, as in 1/8 ton. I guess I better apologize since it's actually 5 pounds less than 1/8 ton.

Send this guy an email and ask him if it's true:

Martino.Bianchi@husqvarna-motorcycles.com

I have a hard time believing this is an official correspondence from Husky HQ. That cannot be a good business decision. The proper thing to have done (if they did anything at all) would be to set the record strait with accurate information on the forum which the misinformation was posted.

i dont know wether it was true or not but to say that a bike broke causing injuries will hurt a companies sale wether its true or not esp coming from a pro rider who is a well respected test rider ( KTM)... those guy on the fence of going to a husky hear that and they wont buy one cuz they dont want it to break on them... hard to report facts sometimes, becuz even if it were true unless hall who was alone?? will stand up and say yea the husky broke and i got hurt cuz of it then no one will ever know the truth... but if we see hall on Huskies for the rest of his career then hmmmmm...

Well, it would be cool if there was actually a consequence for writing/posting bullshit, lies and spreading hate. Well, a consequence other than making the poster look like a douche.

Can someone please translate this for me? This has to be one of the worst written posts ever. I'm not saying be perfect, but I can't even figure out what he's trying to say here.

I have spent alot of time aboard husky's range of enduro models and have only had one problem.. On the 250wr 2 stroke, The V-Force reeds broke..
Apart from that i have had nothing but quality time on them.

Well, if it is real it's pure bullshit by Husky to threaten someone with legal action. Besides, they have no case. Slander? Hardly. Mearly a person reporting what he saw/heard. Slander is doing so with "intent" to cause harm to a person's or business' reputation.

If it's not real, great, no harm done.

I don't think the email to sleeter was actually from Husky. It is fairly easy to spoof an email to someone.

Post a reply to: Don't dis husky
