Sucks as a fan of the sport, and for Tyla having sunk so much $$ into the property and track facilities.  Living in CA as an adult, I'm really sensitive to the pressures we face closing off access to riding.

That said, if folks actually read both the special use revocation letter, and the original letter approving the special use here, it may debunk the crazy neighbors or conspiracy theories.  Huge difference between requesting a minor special use permit for personal use at your residence, and a major special use request.   Let alone building a track so close to the property line and preexisting neighbor's home.   Either poor legal advice, or poor judgement.  

Having been blessed to ride on family's farm growing up, we never would have considered, or been allowed to ride or burn in a track so close to a neighbor, at least not on a regular basis without their expressed approval.  That was just common sense and being a good neighbor for generations.    Our rights usually end when they infringe upon others.

We've got a couple private tracks here. One is in a triangle with a railroad track, a major highway, and an industrial area (lumber mill and asphalt grinder mill) as borders. NO ONE complains about dust or noise. No one ever will. It's a perfect location. I wish I had access to the 30 acres that's still being farmed. I could make a world-class track with this dirt. 

The other is on 40 acres up in the hills. That one I do worry about the neighbors - mainly due to the noise of 4 strokes. The owner doesn't let too many ride that one too often, or at the same time, but I bet it's just a matter of time.

Many public tracks here (Mountain View and Washougal in particular) are under pressure from the county, developers, and neighbors. I'll be surprised if both are still running in 10 years given all the CA left-wingers that have moved here and the value of the land. NIMBY even tho they just bought the damn yard. I bet the HUffman's could sell Washougal for a FORTUNE for a golf course or housing but so far they are holding tight.

It's happening everywhere. There are too many vermin, oops I mean people, on this little dirt ball. Shit I sound like a grumpy old man. Shoe fits, but I worry that my boy won't have a place to teach his son to ride when that time comes. Red Barchetta maybe.
