What a night! Great racing, the pro classes were a little light, so it was pretty easy money for those guys. Wink

I meet zookrider and even tried to t-bone him! lol

I hear about the pro riders all the time needing money, it would have been easy to make a few hundred for about 15 minutes of work tonight.

Post photos want to see it.

When I was a kid, the local pros didnt aspire to make money as a factory rider. That was a golden ticket that was given to those that were the very best. Back then a pro would travel in their van, mechanic and rider often one in the same would do local races around the country winning at the time $500. Enough to pay for the drive to the next event and race. At this time the minimum wage was like $1.75 making $3.50 was a good job. So that would be equivalent to making a few thousand today.

There weren't parents with 40 Foot toter homes, 18-20 bikes, practice bikes, mechanic, trainer and truck driver. It was all done by him or one other. Maybe I am nostalgic, maybe it just made more sense. I do know this. One guy I knew that earned his living this way, bought a home had a family and started a very large advertising firm which is still going today.

Today it's all about Loretta Lynn's. Maybe they still exist. What a summer that could be.

Cory Green had a pretty easy night of taking home a little cash for a night of riding. Congrats to him.

And you always see something at a race like this that you may possibly never see again. I wish I had pictures to post of where a beginner rider and his bike ended up during practice. And for him to come away from it without being hurt is pretty amazing.

All I heard was a LOUD CRRRRRAAAASSSSHHHHH!!!

When I came around the corner, there was a 125 beginner stuck on top of a bull shoot...about 6 feet off the floor. He had gotten out of control in the whoops and hit the berm wide open. He launched and hit the scorers tower (8 feet off the ground) and ended up sitting on the bull shoot.... We had to get the skid steer to get his bike down. He walked away without a scratch!!
