So, I pay income tax on the money I earn. Then I pay tax on the money I spend to purchase things. Then I have to pay tax on the things I purchased, that were taxed, with the money that was taxed. Just so Sleepy Joe can send that money to the Ukraine.
Whose tea is going in what harbor?
The title says it all.
No debate.
No endless back and forth trolling.
Taxation is theft.
Taxation without representation was the original Tea Party slogan.
Problem now is that we have representation but it's swampy as hell and both sides are in on the pork fest.
I don't know what it will take to shrink the government by alot but that's how to bring down taxes.
Does your Senator or Congressman represent you, or some lobby? I’d say we’ve got taxation without representation. The government is totally corrupt.
They take some of my money before I even get to spend it. Then, if the feds took too much of it, they allow me to have some of it back. The following year, California looks at the amount they gave back and says, "that's income, we're taxing it."

Me individually no but we do have "elected" politicians which we didn't have at the time of the tea party revolt.
I would argue that a quasi lobby group is steering the boat on taxes which totally corrupts our government and here we are.
Taxation with phony representation.
Now that I can agree with.
So in this tax-free society you envision how do you propose we fund our defense, law enforcement, fire, education, roads, sewage treatment, water treatment, trash collection, border protection, judicial system, and on and on and on. If we want a civilized society we are going to have to pay for the services whether they are provided by the government or private entities. If you want to eliminate the government and privatize everything, cool but that will be far more expensive. If you don't care to live in a civilized society that is also cool but you are living in the wrong country, possibly on the wrong planet.
How much money do we spend in Foreign Aide every year? 51 Billion in 2020 alone. FIFTY-ONE BILLION!
Since you apparently don’t know much about history, there was no income tax whatsoever until 1913.

I don't know much about history, lol. I love non-moto.
I hate taxes. I don't want to pay taxes. It pains me how much my federal and my state governments waste my tax dollars. If I were in charge the government would be cut in half and foreign aid would take a huge haircut.
But the thought of living in a society with zero taxes is caveman shit.
We need to do that but all the foreign aid, special interest projects, bridges to no where, nation building etc should be on the table for review.
We can do better with less if we really tried
Please quote me where I said, “Zero Taxes”? Reading is fundamental, I think I obviously stated in my text, that we are over taxed, paying tax on tax, on tax.
Reactionary posting, got to love it.
"Taxation is Theft"
That means any amount of taxation is theft, right? Spelling out your thoughts accurately is fundamental.
You formed your entire response, on the title of the thread alone? Do you only read the headlines also?
Alright, how about this. I disagree with your thread title. I do agree that the way our government assesses taxes and, most importantly, spends them, is fucked. We good?
I'm not sure why anyone would down vote this question , unless they don't mind being robbed.
Here is an example. I'd like to know why the defense department has failed it 5th audit it a row , and has some how misplaced / can't account for over two trillion dollars of our tax money.
That is just one of many , many government programs that always come up way short on their audits. I could take a wild guess where that money goes , but I'm sure anyone could figure that out. There is a reason why just about every elected official all around the world is worth millions.
And why I struggle to make ends meet some times.
That’s my stalker fan club, Jeffro. They’d neg if I posted that the sky was blue! 🤣🤣🤠
Always been good. This is only entertainment, I don’t take it, nor myself that seriously.
Pit Row
LMMFAO “Son, that’s called inflation”……
Inflation is theft
Want to hear something strange, Jeff? The same defense department that failed five audits to the tune of $2T, gave me a credit card w/ a $15k limit to use for supplies and shit my department needs. If I fail to verify my purchases correctly through the credit card website, I lose my job per a memo signed by the SecDef.
You left out the business taxes that are passed along in the prices we pay for our goods and services.
And...
You can never own the land you worked your ass off, to fully pay the bank note.
Because...
Property taxes.
Your land belongs to the government.
And you were kind enough to buy it for them.
And then there's this...

I have been 1099 the past two years so it is pretty depressing. I wish everybody would wake up. Instead everybody votes for increases on themselves every year for the schools, or fire fighters, or whatever they come up with.
There weren't many roads or bridges in 1913...
So, what are you going to do about it? This board is littered with “woe is me” postings by people apparently waiting for a knight in shining armor. Don’t like paying taxes? Then don’t! There are ways to live off-the-grid. But complaining on an internet chat board isn’t one of them.
Your earnings are manifestations of your labor. By that definition taxes are sla ery, not theft. Considering half the country pays no income tax, it is slavery of the most productive and brightest citizens. Also social security, armed forces, and interest on the debt, are the vast bulk of the budget. What politician is brave enough to cut social security benefits?
COOL, When do I get my 5 million in reparations
Racist.
Call me what you want as long as I get my 5 million.
