Went to a restaraunt by Lumen Field, Jimmy's, and had a spicy chicken sandwich with fries which was rather delicious. Which moves me to my next point. I'm really glad I ate before I went into the stadium because prices for food and drink seemed liked legalized thievery to me.
I did buy two of the lemon flavored alcohol beverages which were 24 oz and a bag of popcorn. The total came up to over $45 dollars, which is ridiculous. I would have sent the items back, but they open the cans as soon as they set them on the counter and I assume this is done so you can't tell them to put them back. Never again though.
I can't complain too much though because the racing was great. Crowd favorites were pretty obvious: Jett, Eli, and Levi Kitchen and Sexton. The track was really cool and I loved the rhythm sections and seeing how the riders were going to triple or double them. Opening ceremonies was great and the fireworks cool. I did leave my seat and when I came back and dad and young son were in my seats. I didn't want to say anything to the dad in front of his son so I found some seats (with cushions) in a corridor area so I just enjoyed the racing from there.
Overall, great experience and there is nothing like seeing these talented riders up close and real on the track. However, $73.00 for parking and $45 for two drinks and a popcorn has made me realize I'm probably going to enjoy the experience just as much from a couch, a few beers, a big tv and the comforts of home. I must be getting old.

Supercross has nothing to do with event parking prices and catering costs.
But it all goes to emptying your wallet.
So his comments are valid.
Thank you. This is my point. Between fight traffic there and back, paying too much for parking and a couple of drinks, I'm content to stay home. As much as I like seeing these riders up close because nothing really compares to that, I guess I must just be getting old.
Not trying to take away from anyone who doesn't mind paying those prices and enjoying the experience themselves. In fact, I recommend going to race if you never have.
I took a flight to Seattle and met up with friends from Portland in 2018 for SX. I paid $50 for us to park and thought that was ridiculous. $73? Goddamn!

There is nothing like SX live so I say live your life to enjoy it, you can’t take the money with you in the end. Shit McDonalds is pretty much a 20 dollar event these days for a couple egg mc muffins and a coke!
Fighting traffic and paying high parking fees is a silly choice with the transit options available in Seattle.
Food costs are a little different, but there are plenty of options. I think everyone has been pretty aware that stadium concessions are 2-3X what you pay before you go in, so it shouldn’t come as a big shock to anyone by now.
Someone took your seat and you didn't say anything? I guess you got scammed by that dude in the other thread.
The real problem is sitting on the couch too much doesn’t allow someone to walk 4 blocks and pay $20 for parking.
I was there as well. Things were definitely spendy. To be expected though, stadium prices are always ridiculous.
I will say, if someone was sitting in the seats I paid $140 for, I'd kick em out. Good lesson for the kid too, you can't steal people's shit.
This is why I love the Nationals. Walk to different areas around the track, bring your own food and beverages, and not be crammed like sardines in a seat made for a toddler. That being said we did get tickets to MetLife next month because the kid has been to nationals but never SX. We’ll starve till we leave the stadium before I pay $20 for a hot dog.
When I go to the movies or really any events where there are prices like that, I take some cheese, almonds, brazil nuts, a protein bar, and in a seperate bag a scoop of preworkout or something like that. Eat before you go, bring in a water bottle, and then you've got a snack and a boost and you're good all day. It ruins my mood when I have to buy a $32 pizza or something insane like that.
It is expensive at the stadium, we didn’t end up buying anything lol. I enjoyed the evening, great racing and track. I found I could barely hear the bikes over the music and announcing, though.
I know the prices are a bummer but if it's too expensive maybe you could just not eat/drink for a whole 3-4 hours? 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
I spent $200 for tickets to Indy, $40 to park and a ton on food/drink. I got there at noon, watched practice and qualifying all day and then the night show was excellent. I can’t think of any type of live entertainment that would give me that bang for my buck these days. It sucks, but it’s still worth the money to me.
Shit is just crazy expensive these days. Local am/pm was charging $2.50 for a regular sized candy bar the other day. WTF!!!
Local fast food store had a starting wage of $21 an hour to make pizza. Then they expect a 20% tip on top of it. Shit is getting out of hand.
We stopped at a mcdonalds to get our students some food and they were starting at 15/hour. This is why the same mcdouble that was 1.00 in 2019 is 3.49 today (among other things). So, like I said.. I usually just throw a little snack together if we're going anywhere. $30 fast food & diarrhea < 3 minutes of my time to pack something. This next recession is gonna be one for the books lol.
I did love the fireworks, music and opening ceremonies but it was loud! I thought they would stop the music before the riders launched off the gate, but it kept going. It seems like that would be a distraction to the riders.
Pit Row
What's the fast food place? Good on them for starting people at $21/hr. Are you upset about the price of a pizza or someone making $21/hr that you dont think deserves it?
I went to SX last night as well, me and some friends had a great experience. We took the train into the city, popped us out a few blocks from the stadium for $5.50 round trip, just park at a park and ride. I think beer was mt biggest expense of the night overall.
Nobody making pizza deserves $21.00/hr. It's right up there with pumping gas....which takes about the least amount of skill known to man. If you have guys learning a trade like welding , starting at $18.00 /hr??......yeah , pizza dude deserves the $15.74 / hr.......not $21.00!
So you're upset about it too? Ha blue collar workers love to have a dick measuring contest about $/hr. and what other people deserve.
Nah, i hope they make $100 an hour. I'm just going to need for the employer to find a way to still bring products to market at competitive prices. I want everyone to do well, just not at my expense.
It doesn't work that way. Payroll is by far the largest expense so if minimum wages rise like they have in the last several years, the cost of products/service also rises. There is no way around this and it absolutely will be at your expense. It impacts everything, not just McDonald's, but literally everything we purchase.
Minimum wage is for an entry level job during school or to learn skills that you then utilize to be worth more to employers. We have it all backwards now and politics is driving it as always. in the meantime, many of these jobs have increased more than 40% at the bottom level......but those of us that have earned higher wage due to skills, responsibility, education, etc are definitely not seeing even half that growth.
Sorry, I thought the tongue in cheek post was evident. Yes, somewhere like mcdonalds is going to have their prices heavily influenced by wage. I'm almost finished with my graduate degree and just took a slight paycut in fact! OH SAY CAN YOU SEEE......
Nope, they should make MORE since equity and stuff, mannnn. These people had it rough, getting high while some of us went to school for 8 years. Life is hard!
My bad, I didn't catch you were joking.
