Just installed Antigravity 8cell batteries in both my 300sx & 300xc. The start button was bumped on the XC without the fuel pump plugged in, this brought up a code. "Fuel Pump Overvoltage", had to have the dealer clear it. $70...

So frustrating that you cannot clear codes by disconnecting the battery at least...

Thats bullshit

call KTM customer service, that dealer should refund your money

No. I was not charged for the ECU flash.

Everything is gravy!

I was there maybe 15 min total.

Oops, I should’ve paid more attention to your post. lol

there was a thread on Thumpertalk that someone said, “screw it, not worth the hassle of calling KTM”.
I suppose some just don’t want to deal with calling, but it’s silly to let the dealer keep the money from your wallet, when KTM will reimburse them too.

Is there anyone running the Pro Taper SELA holeshot device by chance on their 300?  I purchased about a month ago and yet to install as I can’t locate the templates on their website.  I’ve attempted to reach them via email and voicemail several times over the past 2-3 weeks with no success.  It appears the bulk of their templates are outdated with most all brands last model being 2020.

Appreciate any guidance or support that can be offered.  👍🏻

Just picked up my 300 SX today and noticed that the bike didn’t have a skid plate on it. Are these bikes supposed to come with a skid plate from the factory?

I raced the Alligator FTR Hare Scramble in Ormond Beach this past weekend so I got to really feel it out. The 50 is better than the 49 but it still isn’t perfect. I wasn’t searching between 2nd and 3rd as much as I did with the 49 but it still feels like there’s a significant gap there. Top end, this thing is a monster.
the revalve is really good. The bike is amazing on the high speed stuff and the ass end always feels connected even through sandy sweepers. It’s still harsh through the palmetto roots but I’m working on dialing that in.

Just to make sure...300 SX right?  Would be interested to see what you find on the rear.   I have the 6500 on the front and it is great, but still searching on the rear... mainly high speed is a tad harsh.

I have the 6500s with the pro xact rear - both revalved. Hi speed the rear just holds and has no feel of stepping out. Best dialled bike I have ever owned, handles as good as my 23 350 with same suspension but out corners the 350

If anyone is interested Facebook has a KTM300 SX, XC 2023 group and a guy does an indepth report on the different exhausts on the 300.  Pretty interesting read.  Sorry if this isn't cool to post other links ML and feel free to delete.  Not meaning to step on your toes.  Long story short the Bill's sounds like the one to buy.

I have to go to a different dealer than where the bike was purchased, as I don't want a 5 hr round trip.

Was told on the phone to just come by. It will take about an hour and cost $150.00

WTF!!!

As long as you saved more than $150 and 5 hours you are still ahead, right?

Been lurking here for months. Broke in my 300sx at moab. Amazing bike. Someone mentioned on FB that if the dongle is still in a sealed bag than most likely the power valve did not get set? Is there any Truth to this? If it doesnt get set does the PV just not open all the way at WOT?

Mine was still in the sealed bag and my bike runs great. Not sure if dealer has to check that during setup or it is done at the factory. You would think a dealer would have a dongle as part of their shop tools? Easy enough to check it yourself, I have 35 hrs on my bike and have not touched a thing other than basic maintenance. You can also use the mellow map, which opens the valves to 80%, then switch to aggressive map, you should feel a substantial difference in power, that will tell you the valves are opening 100%.

Have you noticed any difference between the new ad old firmwares ?

I can't seem to find any issues with mine, except for the little pop sometimes after shutting it down

I have not had a chance to ride it yet.

Every time I  have had  time to ride, it rains.

Had my codes cleared and latest ecu flash at my local dealer yesterday, they did it with a smile and no charge (NCY). Love that kind of service.

BTW Ktm corporate was there, they say there is no change in performance if you have the FI light flash after accidentally hitting start instead of kill.

I picked up a 300SX a couple weeks ago and am loving it so far. The motor is amazingly powerful and smooth at the same time.

Only complaints so far are the start/stop switch and the Footpegs.  Already ordered separate switches.

But Footpegs, specifically lower ones are impossible to find.  I’m 6’3” and the 10mm drop I always run helps more than you’d think it would.  The only pegs I can find are Raptors -5mm.   Fastway, Flo, XPro etc have nothing yet.   Anyone know of anything here yet? I’ve called the above manufacturers and they have no date yet.

if not I’ll go with the -5mm Raptors and hope it’s enough.  Thanks

Just put the Raptors on mine.  I left one side stock and the other with the 5MM down/10mm back to see if I could tell a difference.  It was more notaceable than I expected.  Feels much better, but haven't ridden it yet.  FYI - I'm 6'2" with a 13 boot.

I posted this somewhere else and for the life of me can't find it, so I'm hope I'm not breaking the rules by reposting it here.

Curious, it seems like a lot of you are using straight race gas or mixing race gas with pump. Seems like most all the 2t race gas has lead in them which I believe could clog the ejectors. Plus nobody around me even sells race gas so using it makes it a pain in the backside. Is there a reason nobody seems to be just using something like Maxima Hi Test Octane Booster which seems a lot easier way to bump the octane up? Kind of surprised KTM calls for 95 unleaded when I can't find anything higher than 91 locally?

For you fuel experts, is leaded fuel something to worry about on ejected 2 strokes?

It's ROZ fuel rating which is used in Europe so in the US recommend fuel is actually 91

US -> ROZ (Europe)
87 = 91
89 = 93
91 = 95
93 = 98

Trail riding on map 1 pump fuel works fine… Mx riding on map 2 in deep sand or with a Pro/ A rider will require better fuel ImO… I heard pinging while in Map 2 on pump fuel… I mix 50/50 C12 & 90 non E pump… 45 hrs no issues at all…

Cool, thanks for the info. Learn something new everyday.

Probably dump some Octane Boost in just for the heck of it. This 2023 300SX  seems to make a lot more strange noises than my 2018 250SX!

Safe to assume that rating is at sea level also.  @ 4000 ft ive had no issue with 91 pump.  And I agree these motors are loud! Mostly at idle it sounds like the counterbalance shaft is slamming around

I know it makes me paranoid with all the blown up motor reports. But they just sound like regular mechanical noises I figured like you it was the counter balancer or maybe even the fuel ejection firing. My 2018 SX doesn't make any of these weird noises!
