He actually did say it a few times and was clearly sarcastic and making a joke. It came up last year when Tom was doing work for MXA and Jason was just giving him shit like two friends do. There didn't seem to be any animosity

It's well known Anderson is very frugal.  Maybe Team Fried was growing and Tom wanted a larger piece of the pie and was told no.  Pure speculation and I could care less, but doesn't sound like Tom wanted it to go away.

It's kinda hard to pay your guys when you aren't winning races. I don't really think people are really flocking to watch team fried content either.

Look at Deegan, they are making at least six figures off their content creation. The stuff they put out is awesome and consistent entertainment. Not to mention its free for us to watch.

Tom is a talented guy and he probably sees more opportunity past the team fried fence. Good for him
