I definitely don’t need my Ktm 300 to be any faster

You could start a Beta 300 big bore thread and talk to the other 2 guys in the world that have them 😂…

Yeah I was riding with a bunch of buddies and one was on a 350 and he said it was like I had a turbo lol.  We swapped bikes and it definitely was lacking in power but still fun to ride.

What year 350? I only ask because the 2023 350sxf felt more powerful to me then the 300sx. I personally own a 23 250f and 250sx, but my buddy has the 300sx and 350sxf. So we've been able to do lots of comparisons.

It was a 22 gas gas so the old version.

Ahh makes sense then. I really was impressed by the new 350. But that's another thread. If anyone is wondering about the 250sx vs the 300sx, I'd gladly give a report.

No way any 350 is overall faster than the new 300. I own and have ridden them all. Now rev more and make more power at 14k, yes.

While they obviously make very different power, I felt they are very close power wise, but I’d give the nod to the 350 by a vary small margin. That was highlighted by the fact that all the jumps required the exact same technique to clear them. I really played with lines and the effort required to clear them, and it was almost identical. The 350 was def the most fun fourstoke I’ve ridden and I feel good two stroke technique translates well to that bike.

Did any of you guys previously have a 20-22 bike before this?  I started at the same PSI for the forks that I ran in the old bike and it was way too soft.  I ride mostly off-road and weight 165 and was running 127 in my '20.  I ended up at 145 on the 23 and it still didn't feel super stiff.  I also was running the compression almost all the way in.  This was riding a mild moto track and some woods.

The bike RIPS though haha!  Man I love this thing and I feel like I'm getting pretty close to getting it all dialed in.  The bike feels super plush and it definitely rails the turns better than my old one.

Put a set of 6500’s in it and have them setup…. You’ll never look back. My 300 is close to seconds faster than my 23 350 with same suspension setup. You’ll have fun lining up 4-strokes coming into corners and powering past them on exit 👍

I know I'm going to be on the weirdo side here...but I can't imagine the stock forks being any better.  I'm running 157 PSI and they seem perfect to me.

Can you post a bigger picture of your bike?  Looks great and I'd like a better view if possible. Who did your graphics and seat?  Thanks!

I have not ridden a 23 350sfx yet. I do have a 22 350 with TD Vortex and Akro slip on. When I jump back on my 300SX, I over jump everything on the track for the first few laps! I think the 300 is quicker off idle and into the mid range than the 350. 350 definitely pulls longer & harder on top end. I have to come up with a good lap timer that I can easily use while riding, I would like to see which one I am faster on. Salesman at the KtM shop told me several guys trading in or selling their 450”s for the new 350, I”m sure mostly Vets but if the 23 350 has improved low end and the top end rev, that would be the end of many 450 sales for Vets/ Sr riders..

I would like to hear some comparison between the 250sx and 300sx! There hasn't been alot of talk on the 250.

yes, I would like to hear also. I bet the 250 rev”s higher & you shift more, likely slightly better turning due to lighter feeling engine inertia.

Here is mine, did an offroad style build on it for sprint enduro racing. Last thing to do is swap over my KYB forks from my 22 and get a set of 21/18 wheels

I’ve had the older 350’s and loved the bike minus the fact that they didn’t have much bottom end torque.

For reference I’m 50, 210 lbs and been riding for years. Had a 20 Yamaha 450, 22 450 Honda and a 21 Kawi 450 (which suited me best) of the 450’s. YZ and Crf were to much to control when I got tired. I do suffer from arm pump if I haven’t ridden for awhile and feel like the CFR and Yz could run off with me if things went bad. All I can say is the 350 is all the bike I need, it’s plenty fast and has good bottom end bark now in 23. Best way I can describe it when I’m tired is manageable. Frame and suspension are way at 10 hours than they were new. Handles great too imo.

Riding the 250SX and 300SX back to back, it's clear the 250SX feels more like the typical 2 stroke. Loves clutch work in the corners, revs a tad faster and has more of a pronounced hit. I did not feel like the 300 had much more peak power, but almost as if they used the extra 45cc's to give it more bottom and mid power which makes it roll on very well. It's tough to say if the 250 revs further, but it sure does feel like it. I think it's more of a feeling though, as the 300 pulls so well in the mid, that the top end rush seems less exciting then the 250's. The 250 almost feels like it's tuned slightly leaner as well, giving it that slightly snappier feel. Handling wise is difficult to assess, as my buddy with the 300 did a spring conversion so in that regard it's not apples to apples, but they both felt very similar on corner entrance and exit.  I only have a couple hours on the bike so far and plan to ride them both back to back again this weekend.

For those who have had ECU updates.

How much were you charged?

$0

But only because this was my 16th new bike from this particular dealer. Otherwise they were going to charge, which is total BS. It took under 10mins, and was to fix the issue with an error code from hitting the start button while running.

I rode 250 SX and 300 SX back to back and IMHO very similar handling... just low to mid power difference.   300 has more torque and requires less clutch work. Clutch the 300 though and hold on!  250 may be a better woods weapon.

I have to go to a different dealer than where the bike was purchased, as I don't want a 5 hr round trip.

Was told on the phone to just come by. It will take about an hour and cost $150.00

WTF!!!

That's a rip it doesn't take no hour sounds like they are just trying scam you out of the shops hourly rate or basic service charge. It is a factory warranty type issue should be covered by ktm.

Contact ktm customer service maybe press the issue and get the local ktm rep involved. They sold those bikes with flaws it should not be at the owners expense to have it fixed.

Just installed Antigravity 8cell batteries in both my 300sx & 300xc. The start button was bumped on the XC without the fuel pump plugged in, this brought up a code. "Fuel Pump Overvoltage", had to have the dealer clear it. $70...

So frustrating that you cannot clear codes by disconnecting the battery at least...

Did you see a benefit with the antigravity battery? Does it crank faster?

Which part number and how well did it fit?

This one, you have to trim the bottom plate of a small lip, and a bit of the piece that covers on its side. Highland Cycles has a video of him installing one.

It cranks much faster.
