I've always wore Astar Tech 6 boots for days. I wore the long thin Astar socks that went pretty much mid thigh to prevent chaffing from my knee braces on the back of my knee and a pair of thick hiking socks over the top of the other socks and I could still feel the shifter and rear brake. My son's mom got me a pair of Tech 10s with the snowboard type booties in them for my Bday one year and hated them at first. I figured I had to give them to break in. 3 weeks later I hated them even more and bought another pair of Tech 6s and eventually gave the Tech 10s to my buddy. That bootie crap was no bueno for me because you couldn't feel shit. My knee brace set up never failed me either. I wore a pair of Body Glove neoprene braces with metal hinge braces on both sides on each knee that I bought at Big 5 and a pair of Shift triple strap plastic knee guards. I'm one of the lucky ones, I played competitive sports, snow boarded, and rode/raced for as long as I can remember without a single knee or joint injury until just recently. My dog was being a crackhead and barking at random shit when I was watching football or Supercross and I threw a pack of smokes at him. I'm pretty sure I tore or slightly tore my rotator cuff because everytime reach for something behind me or throw a football I get a sharp pain. F'n karma! 😂
