I don't know. That's how I remember it. I've been hit in the head a bunch and have a poor memory. If you're gonna make an allegation though, spit it out.
Do you even ride hippy? You never answered when I asked you the first time? Also hard core fan? A majority of your posts are you being emo about politics or crying about something else. Hard core fan? 😂 ok buddy. Whatever you say.
NorCalRedRyder-You keep asking questions but have yet to back up your fabrications about DeCoster but answering questions with a question is just how your type rolls.
Yes I ride and I guarantee you I've been to more SX and MX races than you have including GPs and MXoNs across the pond. I also have more sense than to hop in a cab and not have a clue how far away the stadium was. Blaming it on Sam Boyd Stadium makes me think you are a 30 something that received participation trophies and weren't taught personal responsibility.
But on the other hand, maybe you'd been drinking that evening too like you admitted when you made your post putting The Man down.
I wasn't referring to you Johnny Ringo. And for sure NorCalRedRyder is a candidate for a breathalyzer on his PC/phone.

If anyone should have the power to change anything about racing its Roger DeCoster
It was ironic because that rumor has been kept afloat by Matthes on various of his podcasts through the last couple of years.
Assumes too much JR - and surely not an indictment of RD - Anything could have happened, if someone actually knows it would be interesting to hear about it in spite of the fact that it was 17 years ago.
I'm not a Decoster fanboy, however I do respect him, I always have admired his skill and his work toward excellence, on and off the track. I've met him several times over the years and he's classy and humble, and although I can't call him my hero, I'm inspired and impressed by his continued desire to be at the top of his game and improve this sport while and if he can.
The sport is better with him, and when he thinks it isn't, he'll get out.
IMO
...and nobody holds Matthes feet to the fire. Like I said earlier, if it was Ping, there'd be a shitstorm.
Well I was in Vegas for the last race of the year and my ass hurt from the 4 cabbies that all took their turn raw dogging me through out the day. So ya Karen I did drink. I sure as hell wasn't matching my son shot for shot of apple juice. I like to have some drinks, but I won't have one until 5pm during the week. But I'm in the honeymoon stage with Crown Royal Reservation and she makes that a tough rule to stick to. No participation awards here, my Dad was not having that, he was old school and pushed me everyday. I played travel team baseball and club soccer from 1st grade through high school. I also played competitive tennis and rode when I could. But I moved my focus on those sports, besides tennis because it's awesome, to ride as much as possible after watching Crusty 1 and Smp Disturbing the Peace on the tv at Skip's at Carnegie one glorious day. Since then I rode 4 to 5 days a week and studied the sport nonstop. As far as the Decoster stuff I have already answered it. If you watch so much racing how was it you didn't see Decoster on tv, during a race, get interviewed about his team and say that he was disappointed in Tony and Dungey's performances? And that they had to ride better? Did you miss the multiple threads on this board about him and his favoritism at the MXDN? Factories not wanting to send their guys because they were basically ignored by Roger? Remember people wanting Mitch, RC, or even Tony Alessi to take over as manager of the team? The Russell thing also had people in the know who said that Roger did him dirty? Stand up guy Roger let him know he was done on the team by not loading his bike in the semi for the next race. Pure class Roger. But Russell was classy and didn't want burn future opportunities with KTM by making it in to a shit show. He took the high road and penned a nice retirement letter. Go search around the board, you'll find some very eye opening threads on the subject.
For being such a "hard core" fan and all the tons of races your world travels took you too. You really seem to have very little knowledge of this sport.
Lay off the booze, it makes you look like a fool
***why did you erase your post?**
I'm glad you helped yourself. But how self righteous are you to think you know enough of someone through a message board to tell them to consider sobriety? Trust me I've done very well in life and have many lifelong friends and "meaningful" relationships. Sorry for having my own opinions and thoughts that upset the herd of sheep. One thing I'll never be is a clone and conform to fit in with what the masses consider the norm. Hasn't failed me yet. Now excuse me I have to go collect some more cans before the recycling center closes so I can buy some cheap vodka. 😉 Have a good one buddy.
Ah yes the rebel without a clue approach
Seeing you doubling down on what you said reinforces my thoughts and I’ve clearly touched on a soft spot for you.
I’m gonna bow out because I don’t want to make this thread a back and forth about something completely unrelated but you should really consider what I said
Oh buddy your giving yourself way to much credit thinking you got to me. But I agree with you, this isn't what this thread is about.
Bro....try having a little motivation and self worth....at least pick up enough cans to get mid-grade Vodka.
It's fricken' sad how far folks will let themselves go....
Trust me I would much rather have some Smirnoff, but I gotta eat too and my buddy who works at 7-11 sells me the old taquitos from yesterday for half off. The struggle is real out on these streets. On the plus side I did score 5 half smoked Capri cigarettes from an ash tray though. The kid wins again! 😂
"I picture you as the bald guy with a ring of grey hair and a ponytail you just can't let go of. Probably wearing those creepy glasses that tint in the sun, tye dye shirt, cut off jean shorts, Birkenstocks and yellow toenails"
This made me laugh, but I would suggest posting while sober. It's not that others mind a different opinion, but you are being overly opinionated and too argumentative when not necessary. At the end of the day, whether you agree or disagree with Roger DeCoster, or like him or dislike him, you should respect his accomplishments. I love the fact that at his age, he's still here working in the sport with the best riders. As for his comments about his riders...I think Roger was just being honest. I highly doubt Dungey, Plessinger or Cairoli felt disrespected. My guess is, they respect DeCoster and his opinions, and Roger respects them.
Pit Row
The Man
Every generation has their version of the man. 😉
Love Jeffro too.
Call me crazy, but I prefer the dude sitting in the $2.00 aluminum folding lawn chair, working out of a tent...probably next to a ratty box van. Oh yeah, and the pretty and all natural gal.
There's no "material possessions" flaunting there.
The epitome of "cool" without having to pose or say a word.
Ya again every generation has their definition of the man. I'm partial to the 5 modern girls with Fro in a hot tub in Vegas.
Also how do you know it was a posed photo? C'mon obviously everybody in both photo's knew a pic was being taken, and no one in either pic is looking directly at the photographer? Well except the chick with Roger who most likely has a stiff drink and boredom/sadness in her eyes, who is getting ignored for a book. I bet she had a great time in the box van that night.
I’d guess No.
if Rog went to FELD and said “hey my rider is threatening to pack up and go home if you don’t see this right”
and FELD replied: “ok, tell him we said goodbye “
Rog would’ve looked a proper dick explaining that to RC.
The threat to leave had to come directly from RC and him fully prepared to stand by his word.
Rog could not have made that threat if RC wasn’t prepared to implement it.

Sorry can't agree with that. Besides what he did to Araund Tonus' sister. Then cleaning Araund out in a race after Tonus and Tonus Sr tuned him up for smacking her around in front of them. To this gem of an interview with some washed up soccer player.

I was pretty much raised by my Mom and sisters, so yes I'm biased. He just seems like a tool.
Also in this day and age to be "The Man" you have to race Supercross. I get that he's afraid of it and that he is a great outdoor rider when healthy. But when you dedicate your training and practice to only one discipline of racing year round that definetly helps being prepared for only outdoors. But outside of this forum no one in the US has a clue who he is.
I think that's Roger's wife.
His first wife Laurie I believe.
You know he had to do a double-take the first time he saw Nicole walking around the pits...
So, no comments about DeCoster getting the whoops changed at Arlington? I mean, they obviously got changed and, his guy won the race... One plus one? Well, it's ok if all you vitards just want to pretend that you didn't have him strung up over nothing. Mob rules and all that. Was there ever an apology or retraction from Steve? Hopefully, I just missed it.... If not,,, maybe I just expect too much.
