Thinking even more about this, WTF does Mitch Payton know about hitting modern day jumps and whoops?  He’s been in a wheelchair since like 1980.  Uncle Donnie isn’t in a wheelchair but he’s getting up there in age too and he probably never hit a big triple in his life on an AMA SX track.

If NorCalRider isn't actually Kailua Russell's mom and wasn't also was dumped by DeCoster after a brief fling, then wow, was I ever wrong.

I hadn’t even read the link to Kailub but after reading it there is nothing in it from Roger or mentioning Roger.  I expected there to be a sort of put down comment from Roger in there at least as evidence that he basically shit on Russell.  Btw Kailub’s mom is Davey Coombs sister.

Decoster is almost 80 years old. The sport now is completely different then when he was racing. So why is he still running and calling the shots on basically 3 factory teams? What does he know about modern bikes, Supercross, and suspension set ups? He is the reason why some teams won't have their rider participate in the MXDN. Why? Because the whole time he's hanging out with the Euro guys and gives 2 shits about or any attention to our guys who aren't on one of his brands. He basically shit on Kalib Russell's dream to ride the Nationals after he won a ton of off road races and titles for KTM. Oh ya Russell also probably sold a shitload more of KTM bikes then Roger, or anyone else riding under the brand will ever do. Here's a good read.

https://gnccracing.com/2021/07/20/kailub-russell-steps-away-from-ama-pr…

How about the Nationals last year? He pretty much shit on legends Ryan Dungey and Tony Carollie's results in the Nationals. One guy had been retired 4 or so years after an amazing career and the other had just retired as the most dominant GP rider ever. They finished behind guys like Tomac, Sexton, Etc. And he has the gall to talk bad about them? But says nothing as their marquee  rider a healthy Cooper Webb takes the summer off to ride local races and off road events?

How this guy, who probably never hit a jump over 20 feet when he raced in the 70's, has the pull to get the the track builders to adjust the tracks to his riders strengths is beyond me. It really pisses me off what he did to Russell it was complete bullshit, the guy broke his jaw a few weeks before the season and still raced. Only to have Roger basically force to leave the team. There is a lot more to that story if you feel like researching it. Time to put the old geezer out to the pasture and bring in some one who has a sense of how the sport works today.

You guys know where the thumbs down button is.

Can't wait to go to the races in Oakland tomorrow.

This is what the AMA needs to do when Roger comes over whining.

Some people tend to forget that it's alcohol, and not truth serum, that they are drinking. NorCalRedRyder is perfect example of that.

And? Implies the last whoop was too close, cool if so and they removed it for that reason all good. Still doesn’t change that a few more were removed, as requested by an individual.

If you look at the rest of the comments, you’ll see several other industry identities saying Roger has always done this. Weege sounds like he’s just playing diplomatically, as he usually does, he’s a smart guy.

This week, Feld Motor Sports' Mike Muye explained to us how decisions get made on track changes, hoping to put some of these rumors to rest. Here’s how the process worked in Tampa:

“Prior to the start of practice, some riders mentioned the need to remove one whoop at the end of the lane to provide more time for the bike to settle before making the turn leading up to the triple,” said Muye. “So, we did. After watching practice, our team (both Feld and AMA) felt it to still be unsafe as several riders we witnessed had near issues. So, we (Feld and AMA) decided removing an additional whoop was the best and safest option. It should be noted that we never take a single team or rider’s advice on track adjustments. If approached with a concern by a team or rider, we’ll immediately ask other teams and riders for their input. This provides us with a collective decision for the better, rather than one individual’s preference.”

So, where's the backlash towards Steve. Is this situation different from when Ping was getting blasted?

Exactly, why would Matthes have brought this up and pointed a finger at DeCoster...makes no sense?  When a "journalist" makes an accusation like this and it turns out to be wrong, don't they usually make a public retraction to clear the air?

What a load of half truths and exaggerations! Your whack comments aside, The Man has forgotten more about all aspects of racing than you'll ever know.  RD knows how to make triple clamps and parts on a CNC machine.  Roger also has more sense to find out where a stadium is before hopping in a cab so there's that too.

Don't think Nocalrider is right, but there is some logic in what he is attempting to say.

How many if you have that old dude at work that constantly says "that's the way we've always done it".  Or doesn't give a new idea a chance.  Not saying RD does any if that, but, there is a time for people to move on, let others do the work, embrace new ideas.

I know my time in my line of work is getting near.  I more often than in the past, shut my mouth or step aside.

Yes I had a few drinks. I guess I could see why you guys would think I was wrong about the suspension and bike set up, but I still kinda believe it. As far as him doing Russell dirty after all he did for KTM, shitting on Dungey and Tony last summer, while giving Webb a free pass last summer, and his "managing" of the Des Nations team. I stand by what I said on everything else.

So much for the theory that DeCoster has any say in the whoops after tonight.

I actually tried to talk to him earlier today when I stopped by the KTM semi during the Pit Party. I asked him if he was going to have the whoops and dragon back toned down for the main event to benefit his guys. He looked at me and said "it was you on Vital! You ruined my plan! They won't even listen to me anymore!" He then threw a half drank Redbull at me, but he unfortunately throws like a girl (euros😂) and hit some poor kid in a stroller 10 feet to my right. At that point I said "I thought this was a Pit Party Roger! WTF?" and I was out, luckily a handful of the KTM halftime show kids that witnessed it were able to restrain him. But the whoops didn't get touched and I'm pretty sure I'm the reason why.

You guys need to lighten up. You take this sport, which I love, way too seriously. Espn airs Corn Hole and Poker over us. That shows our significance in the big time sporting world's opinion.

Try again but this has nothing to do with taking the sport too seriously and everything to do with your half truths and generalizations about DeCoster.  I won't waste my time unpacking your post but anyone that follows the sport knows how wrong you are.   You're welcome to your opinion but not welcome to disrespect The Man posting things that simply aren't true.   But please keep drinking and posting to do your part to increase the sport's significance.

Dirt Wurx guy on Pulp literally just said that RD telling them to change/take out whoops (in order to help his riders/Webb) is FAKE NEWS!  He said he has only spoke with DeCoster five or six times over the last ten years.

Next excuse…

First off don't tell me what I'm welcomed to and what I'm not welcomed to say. If I cared enough I could literally find several examples of proof, minus the tech shit, to back up everything I've said about Decoster. I follow this sport very closely and have for a long time. I say what I think without any apologies, sometimes I may come off brash, opinionated, and be out of line or over the top. But I will always own what I said, right or wrong. But like it or not, I'm right a majority of the time and I know my shit. Speaking of this sport. Why is it that most of your post history consists of you whining about something? Most of it is politics, keep fighting the good fight btw arguing about politics on an MX forum. Lol what do think you're going to accomplish with that? Then your complaining about the broadcast, RC and Blair, Bondo, or how someone deserves a penalty. 90% of your posts are you being nothing but a whiney bitch. I picture you as the bald guy with a ring of grey hair and a ponytail you just can't let go of. Probably wearing those creepy glasses that tint in the sun, tye dye shirt, cut off jean shorts, Birkenstocks and yellow toenails. Do you even ride? Have ever rode? I kinda doubt it. Anyways have a good night buddy and get back to arguing about politics. Dork

NorCalRedRyder knowing your posting history saves me the time of reading your post past the two sentences.   Others are in agreement with me, so congratulations for being in the minority.   BTW by all means back up your drivel on RD.  The sound you hear is me not holding my breath waiting for you back up your "talk is cheap" BS.

I can’t think of a single other instance where an off handed comment from a rider at a press conference got a penalty reversed. Maybe I’m missing one.

Ricky also said he’d be at Daytona, two races later, so

If what happened fifteen years ago is important to you why not start a thread on the topic instead of hijacking this thread?

What you call DeCoster fan boys are actually hard core fans that remember all of his accomplishments and respect the teams he has built over the years.  Throw in his MXoN involvement and the guy is a living legend.  And doesn't deserve to be belittled by a Vitard that's had one too many.

What part of my post was belittling? Simply asked a question on another event Roger was involved in that was similar to getting whoops removed. Don’t be so sensitive

edit: unless you are referring to NorCal. He’s definitely hammered.
