I have been looking high and low for a dual sport that I could still comfortably ride moto on. Coming from a Factory Edition I did not want to be disappointed on the motors performance and suspension.
I stumbled on this stealth 2018 Black FC450 Rockstar edition Dual sport on facebook in NC so it was only 2 hours away …… so I snatched it up as fast as I could. So now its time to freshen it up and make it more my style.
Where do you think I should begin?
What do you think? White, Yellow or Blue?

Prefere black hoses, but love that you are running gold wheels. Can’t stand it when riders or companies are doing retro builds on black rims.

I'm a Husky guy but I think the stock stealth plastic and graphics looked pretty good.
Taken me a while but slowly making some progress.
As a tech for many years I have built and trued tons of wheels. I have 5 or 6 different spoke wrenches but not one of the fit KTM/Husky/GASGAS spokes. They are a really strange size. Even the spoke wrench that comes in the tool kit fits really tight and is short so I didnt want to damage any of the spokes or nipples. After searching I found the nipples are 6.8. Even more searching and found the “right” box end spoke wrench from Motion Pro. It is box end so it puts pressure on all 4 sides not just 2 than can crush / deform the the nipple. This spoke wrench is a game changer!!!
Took the rear wheel apart and and found the rear rotor was worn but was able put the new gold/yellow rim on so now waiting on the rotor and 2 new Michelins to arrive.
Up next will be front wheel rebuild is then on to the forks and shock to service them.
Front wheel is done now on to freshening up the suspension.

This bike is sure starting to feel more like it is a works bike with custom parts.
I purchased a WP preload shock spring adjuster tool and a SDI reservoir bladder kit only to discover that the shock already has a WP over sized reservoir bladder kit that was also already installed. By oversized the reservoir is 3mm larger ID so it carries more shock fluid plus it has cooling fins. I really liked the idea of more fluid but the oversized also means the outside is 3mm larger so now there is not enough room for the WP preload adjuster to clear the reservoir and I really wanted the simplicity of the adjuster using a 8mm socket to adjust it.

I love the graphics. Very well done. As a 80's kid I was raised on KTM and Huskies in the MI woods.
I was born in St Joseph and grew up in Berrien Springs Michigan 5 miles from Red Bud. Thats where I 1st rode a dirt bike.
That is an awesome place to learn and grow up. I bet even kids at school knew what Larracos leap was. haha.
I live 2 hours away and have embarrassingly never been to Red Bud. The wife and I are more of a "chillin in the woods at a checkpoint Enduro family" as we hate crowds. haha. Someday we'll get there.
I built an old KTM into a KTM/Husky "tribute" to my late Brother about 10 years ago. I made it look like a bike that he raced new in 91. I built it years ago when I had literally no money at all. I was going through a rough time in my life and needed to do it. I had a vinyl cutter and just enough for new plastics. I think I had 1200$ into the whole thing. I still had my helmet and boots... borrowed some gear from a friend and went for it. Completely off the couch and out of shape at 40. I rode a few Jackpines and other GNCCs on it and it wasnt too bad for a 20 year old scooter. Lets just say the bike was faster than I was. Haha It literally saved my life that summer. Its been a long time and I really want to make a new one. Your build is the inspiration that I needed.

I wasn't even aware of that coolant tank's existence; I need to see if that would fit on my 2023 KTM 450 XCF....
The coolant tank seems to be KTM/Husky/GASGAS universal for quite a few years on all the big bike models but that is a good question if it will it fit the new frame.
Sadly I have been extremely sick so haven’t had the energy to put it on yet.
