FYI - He makes it a point to donate a part of the proceeds (I don't know how much) of his films to those affected by the subject matter, as with "Sicko" he helped a lot of the people in it.

He even anonymously donated $12,000.00 to his nemesis, the owner of Moorewatch.com, who was having really bad problems

“After I posted about finding the plan and what the cost was, someone emailed me and asked if an ‘anonymous’ benefactor could offer to pay my first year’s premiums. $12,000. I was skeptical of course, but since I’m not an idiot, I accepted,” wrote Kenefick. “$12,000 was like manna from heaven at that time. As you all may remember, I was being bled dry by the scumbag that used to host the server on which this site resides. My business was almost dead, my wife was very, very ill and I was racking up a few little health problems of my own. That money made it possible for us to begin to turn our lives around.”

But who and where did the check come from?

“When the check arrived, I was overly cautious. I tracked the company that issued the check, the bank it was drawn on…I found a hotline you could call to check the status of drafts issued by this third-party company, and the number on the check (actually more like a money order) checked out. I even went so far as to see where the branches of the issuing bank might be physically located, and there are like five of them within walking distance of Moore’s home and office in New York City.”

The NY Daily News has confirmed that the check was indeed from Kenefick’s nemesis, Michael Moore. A man that Kenefick had attacked for years on end.

“I knew he was using me,” Kenefick now writes on his blog in an effort to beat Moore to the punch. “I knew he would try to turn this to his advantage some day. That day may be upon us. I was just warned by someone in the know that Moore is about to drop the hammer on me.”

Well guess what, Moore isn’t commenting on the matter. And I hope it stays that way. I tend to believe that Mike is a good guy, who has helped a lot of people with his films. Does he have an agenda? Who doesn’t. Kenefick certainly does:

“If it was you, Mikey…your $12,000 doesn’t buy my silence. It won’t buy my affection, nor will I shy away from talking about whatever may or may not be in your new film. I’ll still be the same guy, expressing my opinion and trying his best to research facts you tend to skip over or ignore. All you bought for your money - if it was yours - was the peace of mind of knowing you actually helped someone who needed it.”

Talk about being ungrateful. Talk about turning a nice gesture into a media opp for yourself and your agenda.

$12,000 is cheap Press at that level. $1000 a month for 24/7 PR. Easy deal. Since it's a donation it can be put on the taxes as such. Shrewd if you ask me. To the money he makes, it would be like me donating $40 to the AMA to continue killing Motocross.

Wait, I already do that.

I dont know Michael Moore, he seems like a blowhard Hollywood jackhole. Maybe he is, maybe he isnt. People buy into his crap, just like people love Fox News and take it for gospel.

haha...that's what I thought when I first read this. Cheap press.

But, like anything, he did some good by helping the dude out.

He is a blowhard...but, some of his points are interesting.

He made one about our health care and how great the Cuban system is, yet has never been there for his personal care.

Now he is talking bad about capitalism, yet has made millions thru the free market."

How does any of that disqualify his movies as documentaries?

No indy he made an "anti gin" one.

I am sure he's a vodka martini man.

So? The end result is still the same. Philanthropy would be giving $12,000 to the children's care Cedar-Sinai anonymously. NOT giving it to the source of press about yourself. Anonymously or not.

He gets an "atta boy" for taking care of his so called competitor. It's honorable in the manner of competition, nothing more as I see it.

I don't get your point or problem here.
He did a nice thing, anonymously, for a person who's made it his purpose to attack him.
He never revealed he did it or admitted he did it.
He never looked or asked for an "atta boy" or anything else.

I don't understand why you seem pissed about it

Not pissed at all. I just see it for what it is. Press. nothing more nothing less. Why else would he give him the money, if the competitor goes he loses the press he generates. In America, hate generates positive following and media. Without the media, Moore is just another businessman trying to make his millions the hard way like the rest of us.

My thoughts of the reasons, Moore gave him the money for: It generates media, he had the money to give him, relative to other media outlets it was cheap. I mean SUPER cheap. Even running your own website and PR service. Bad press and hate is the quickest way to the top. Like a train wreck. Everyone has to watch it. Why is Reality TV so popular? Lastly, Moore probably gets a kick out of it. He seems like he loves all the attention, positive or not.

So, Moore and the guy who hates him, is famous for blasting him daily and has made it his mission to destroy Moore, are in cahoots to get press for Moore?

Even though Moore never admitted he donated the money, never told the guy he gave him the money, they were working together, two enemies, to create positive public press for Michael Moore.

This is your point.
and you're going to stick with that?

Doesnt really piss me off. The guy has always been a joke. I just hope he sticks to what I heard him say a few days ago about possibly not making another movie after this one because he feels like he is in it alone. Im glad he lost some weight though.

What Moore is trying to expose in this movie (from what I can tell by watching the trailer) is the corruption, greed, and dirty politics behind capitalism. Can't believe some of you can't see that.

But that's okay, go ahead and keep bitching about the movie none of you have yet to see.

The fat man said this,

We live in the time where we have fictitious election results that elects a fictitious president. We live in a time where we have a man sending us to war for fictitious reasons.

I didn't realize he was so anti Obama. Hopefully his next movie will be about somthing useful like how Acorn ripped us off on the last election.

He made an anti gin one, yet three full time body guards carry guns.

He made one about our health care and how great the Cuban system is, yet has never been there for his personal care.

Now he is talking bad about capitalism, yet has made millions thru the free market.

He has an agenda and takes away his cred to call them documentarys.

Personaly I have no problem with him doing it, I do however think that mindless people that lap it up as fact are not very bright
Now he is talking bad about capitalism, yet has made millions thru the free market.

you think what's happened on Wall Street the last 10 years and the subsequent bail out had anything to do with capitalism?

lmao

Siphoning off all the wealth in 3 whole banks to the top 2 percent of executives and then getting a gov't handout when the bubble burst - that's building capital to you?

Seriously man, are you fucking retarded?

Take off your goddamn party blinders for one minute and tell me Wall St didn't fuck us all under the guise of "capitalism. They rode that train right off the fucking rails. And then BOTH sides had an equal hand in adding insult to injury.

I agree with everything you just posted, but it was capitalism, in its dirtiest form.

Capitalism isnt reserved for people who build capital legally, even a drug dealer is a capitalist.

The banks failed and in a pure model , would have been allowed to fail. However, by manipulating the system through "deregulation" they became"too big to fail"

Actually, I'm really not. I'm defending reality. I don't give a shit about him.
I have never seen ANY of his movies and I'm not really a fan of his.

(NOT ONE OF HIS MOVIES)

I have only seen clips here and there

I am only going by what what written and I only know about his donating money because it was mentioned during a news thing on his new movie.

Because I don't understand why he's pissed about something that he doesn't even seem to understand.
You want to make this a "defending Michael Moore" thing when I don't give a fuck who the participants are, Tiki clearly doesn't understand "anonymous" or something in this and I am trying to understand his viewpoint.

You can make it about Moore, that's fine, but the reality is, I am talking about facts and truth and not Moore

Which is why this is the perfect example of a completely Libertarian society.

9/26/2009 11:54am
Sorry, but thats not libertarianism, thats anarchy. libertaions believe that there is a place for government, just not in my personal life.

The Libertarian way is a logically consistent approach to politics based on the moral principle of self-ownership. Each individual has the right to control his or her own body, action, speech, and property. Government's only role is to help individuals defend themselves from force and fraud.

Libertarians believe in the American heritage of liberty, enterprise, and personal responsibility.
