Yes, great to see. And end of race pass on Roczen too.
Have to say was impressed with J Coop. He just kept plugging away until then. Makes you wonder why they did not let him race the 450 full time.
I’m hoping he gets the 450 spot next year if Eli retires. The dude deserves it.
Awesome ride. To run down who he did late was impressive

Super jazzed for the kid.....it was a great debut for him.
Beating out some seasoned names too.
I always assume Cooper is so much younger than he is. he is Turning 26 this year
He will ride the 450 well. i see him racing the same as he did in the 250's within the years to come. Not the fastest with raw speed. but good starts and consistent. Kind of reminds me similar to Seelys career
He started later than most, may not be the dominant guy like some but still can put together a good career for sure.
Depending in how DF is doing he might be doing a little more sx then planned.
If he were to race the rest of the season…I think he’d end up well in to the top 10.
I was really surprised. In the 250s if he has a bad start he struggles to come thru the pack.
So when he was down in 11 or 12. Around colt and Wilson. I expected him to stay there. But to pass them. Ac and savatgy then get Kenny at the end I was really surprised. Especially since colt or Craig havnt been able to put in a ride like that.
Great ride, proved me wrong.
He's good and that ride probably puts perspective on how fast and competitive a handfull of other 250 riders would be up against the old guard.
I thought he looked solid. He should be happy with that result, I would think. Considering the circumstances, especially, I would think that is a successful debut and something to build off of.
Great ride, well done.
Yes, I admit I picked him 16th in the J Coop prediction thread being his first 450 SX and jumping into the series a few races in. With Ferrandis out at least a few rounds I would suspect, he may be here to stay. Especially on the east coast and tracks like Daytona and Atlanta.
Next years Star450 team Justin Cooper, Cooper Webb? The double Cooper team?
Will he be riding 250 or 450 outdoors?
great ride. Always liked him.
Pit Row
250
It was a very solid debut. Kid just kept consistent laps going while the other big names around him got tired or choose bad lines. He just plain rode smarter. Odd seeing him pass Roczen with as much ease late in a race like that. A few guy's speed was off for this track for some reason.
I know Roczen has been known to fade, but was there ever confirmation that it was him who Ferrandis landed on? They showed a grainy video during broadcast and it was definitely a Suzuki, and I know Chiz did not qualify. Maybe he was a little beat up or shaken from that.
I'm assuming pending Ferrandis injury as well.
If Ferrandis is out for motocross he may get bumped up if he is riding good.
Star racing has plenty of 250 riders to take that spot from Cooper.
