I wouldn't mind a regular old heart attack. He's not the only problem the world is facing but certainly is the most immediate.
He was shot at the close range from a pistol at 45 degree angle. Must be internal infighting. He is a russian army captain.
Reading about a planned Russian offensive soon. I’m not sure if that’s true or not. Maybe that’s when the conscripts finish training? My hopes for someone in Russia taking putin out and ending this damn war are fading.

No mention of Ukrainian death figures. No surprise death rates rise as the fighting intensifies and both sides keep throwing more bodies at each other.
The videos of Ukrainian men being press ganged into service seems to be increasing.
I was talking to my Ukrainian neighbor a couple days ago. They came over in 2021 before the conflict. No idea what her husband does but apparently it was a very dangerous job and one of the reasons they fled.
I thought it was due to Nazis?
Propaganda, all part of every sides strategy.
Ukraine and the west have been winning that battle but opinions seem to be changing fast. Lots of recent US polling showing more than 50% of the population no longer support bank rolling the conflict.
If you don’t like that reality, just head to Twitter and all the Ukraine flag waivers in their profile will make you think the whole world supports escalation.
Swordie, this mess has been going on for a while now. That has given me time to get past my "knee jerk" period.
I will grant that the "west" aren't the innocent angels they proclaim. Russia has some legit grievances. But, there's no denying that it's not easy to deal with them for a variety of reasons.
It's probably time for some SERIOUS talks. I doubt those talks will 100% please either side but too many lives have been lost or destroyed. A fight to the death between a couple of guys is one thing...killing thousands is, or at least should be, off the table anywhere.
Well unfortunately the US and the West killed the early hopes of an agreement because it did not work for their interests. That whole story is being suppressed and spun in the media as well. Putin and Zelenskyy both were willing to make some serious compromises. That ship has sailed I’m afraid and there is no way in hell Russia is gonna lose this fight no matter what the talking heads try to tell you. Everyone is dreaming if they think some Western tanks are gonna win the war for the Ukraine. It’s a sheer numbers equation.
It’s time for peace.
You guys live in lalaland if you think it can be stopped by giving Russia a little of Ukraine land.
Russia income dropped 50% . Their spending increased 40%. At this rate their war chest will be gone in June, July. And this time they don`t have USA landlease to support their efforts. On;ly one that can save them is China, but I doubt they`ll risk it considering economic shit they are in.
If you ask me- this ends with revolution in Russia. Or maybe I have rossy glasses on. Ether way, I don`t have a choice. We are next if west gives up on Ukraine in fear of escalation. If west chickens out there, Russia will know they`ll chicken out elswhere. West is too involved now.
Latest Findings
One of the freshest prognoses comes from economist Alexander Isakov and his colleagues at Bloomberg Economics. By their count, Moscow can comfortably keep the war going for at least three years, assuming the average price of Russia’s benchmark Urals crude doesn’t fall dramatically lower than $50 a barrel, price cap or not. Other than continued oil sales, the Kremlin will be able to draw on the still accessible portion of its foreign reserves, now held mostly in gold and yuan1 (albeit sales of the former outside Russia could prove problematic due to Westernsanctions). The Russian government can also raise additional funds by increasing various taxes and duties through its “revenue mobilization” effort.
Bloomberg economists are not alone in thinking it will be years before Russia empties its war chest. Several prominent economists have come to similar conclusions. Sergey Alexashenko, a former Russian deputy finance minister, wrote in December that his analysis of Russia’s budget found that “Moscow will not experience significant economic constraints in the short term that could force it” to halt its war of aggression against Ukraine. Likewise, Moscow State University economics professor Natalia Zubarevich predicted recently that Russia will manage to fund its war “for a long time.” (She pointed out, for instance, that military spending, as a share of the country’s budget, is not much higher now than in 2015, during Russia’s drive to rearm and reorganize its armed forces.)
Pit Row
They have been saying Russia will run out of money since last Feb.
“Estonia’s former defence chief estimated that Russia may only be able to sustain an invasion of Ukraine for a short period of time due to a lack of weapons and money”
“Estonia’s former defence chief Riho Terras has now claimed that Putin’s war is not going to plan because Russia is fast running out of money and weapons, and will have to enter negotiations with Volodymyr Zelensky’s government if Kyiv holds off the Russians for 10 days.”
Hey kongols …. Just chiming in to say you popping in when you can is still greatly appreciated.
Not only for your thoughts and perspective but just to know you are hanging in there.
For those that hadn’t seen it, investigative journalist Seymour Hersh published a story alleging the American government blew up the nordstream pipeline. Hersh is a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist who broke the My Lai massacre story, reported on watergate and uncovered the torture of prisoners at Abu Grhaib. Hindsight has shown his work to be highly accurate.
Here’s his story if you’re interested. It’s a very good read.

UDT. My initial suspicion was that we blew it up. My initial suspicions are normally right. Kind of like in June of 2020, when they announced the widespread use of mail in ballots, that the election was going to be a shit show.
BlackOps routinely happen around the globe, that nobody ever hears about.

Don't be feeling like the Lone Ranger there brother.
I don't know.
Seems like if Putin takes Ukraine, his next stop will be Poland.
I'd hate to have to make these decisions. Send them aide, or wait for the inevitable Poland attack and send men.
I don't know.
"Well unfortunately the US and the West killed the early hopes of an agreement because it did not work for their interests"
I think you mean something other than what I mean when I read this because what I think to myself is that it would have been so easy to take out the convoy when it was stuck and that would have ended it. But no, we can't send offensive weapons it'll be WWIII, well what the fuck are we doing now and in a much bigger problem and escalation. Said this very early. it's easier to stop it now (back then) while the problem is small. What did they do? Sit on their hands. So you just have to wonder who actually wants this war and how are they making money from it. The how they're making money from it is easy. Nobody can keep track of where the money is going, so they're all making money. They have a financial interest in keeping the war going. And that's sad! People are dying so others can make money. I'm done ranting for now.
Moldova was/is the next stop. But yeah, Ukraine or even the eastern part of Ukraine isn't Putin's end goal.
The Ukrainians and volunteers are doing the world a huge favor right now.
Getting real Dr. Strangelove in here.
