That’s sand section looks killer!
Similar to last year.
uh. it's 99% the same track as '22. straight before over/under and slight rythm section change on 1st straight are only mods i'm seeing. and i'm talking down to obstacles, not just layout, thats identical...

Very similar to 21 too.. both years I ended up on my head in first corner.. lol
I think they're using that start area because of accessibility.. no crossing track to get on the line..

Too busy with Triumph to design something new?
2021 was the same start, but a different track layout. 2023 is as close to copy/paste as it gets with 2022.
Restrictions on what they can do is the limiting factor.
Atlanta has been a far better track in the last few years.
restrictions due to the utilities in the ground, etc, have always been a limiting factor. last years track was as close to 'old school daytona' as it had been in many years. but, its changed pretty drastically every year the past decade. 22/23 is CTRL-C + CTRL-V as it gets...
I wonder if anyone complaining about RCs has actually really stopped to think about how cool it is that we have the GOAT, (the greatest of ALL TIME) designing the track. The dude could have sailed off into the sunset with the money he made, instead he's right here every year designing a track. I used to complain about the copy/paste design, but when you actually think about what he did in the sport, you can forget about all of his designs and just appreciate the fact that he's there.
i hear you. but appreciating a racer/race legacy, and also pointing out that consecutive-year tracks are essentially identical, can both be true at the same time.
Back up a sec. I'm wasn't knocking RC at all. I'm a fan and super stoked he is so entrenched in our sport. I like him announcing, and jazzed he's involved with Triumph. (I own a Triumph).
I was only saying Daytona has it's limitations. It's still an awesome race/track. I have just liked Atlanta more....
meh. Ok, he's the GOAT. Doesn't give him a pass with "Oh cool - you literally replicated the track year over year and we're 100% good with that because....well you're the gOAT....and so that makes everything cool."
if he's going to stay public in the sport with his engagement that's awesome...but he's still fair game when he mails it in with a half-assed effort.
Sorry folks, that was sarcasm, it was a copy/paste from another thread where someone used the same reasoning for RC being in the booth
you can tell it's different because of the way that it is
Racing Daytona amateur SX for the first time this year! Hope it’s not too tamed down like last year
It's literally the funnest* thing ever.. this will be my 3rd year.. I will say I was really hoping for a different start and layout than the past two years..
Maybe the build sizes will make for changes and hopefully good battles
So RC just said on Pulp MX that hea has always wanted to run the same track 2 years in a row. And after all of his scetches nothing was better than last years so he just said "screw it, I will take some heat but it was a great track."
Pit Row
I believe that’s what happened, but I still don’t like it.
I wish the track crews used more of the same track design over and over. Find something that works, that makes good racing, and go with it. Why reinvent the wheel? The changes in dirt between venues is a solid variable.
