He’s the only guy in the next 20 years that could break MC and RC’s records.

Break MC and RC’s records. That’s funny.
I guess we will have to watch and see…
You forgot Deegan...
I was thinking the same thing. Jett is going to break McGrath record on SX wins. Not sure about RC4's outdoors. You cant deny he is special.

There is no way he breaks those records. Trust me in the 450 class he will have some actual competition unlike this year.
Agreed. Unless he has some really bad luck, Jett is a shoo-in for the 250 title. Nobody else is even close.
let's not put the cart before the horse.
He should already be in the 450 class. Sing his praise to me when he’s fighting for podiums there
Okay so jett goes to the 450 class next year.. give him 1 year in the class, rookie season to make his mistakes.
who will he be racing against in these future years of Jetts “prime”.
the field now are all on the back ends of their career and getting older and contracts are finishing up with current teams.
it’s the time frame that makes Jetts future so bright.
All these current 450 riders will be finishing up soon. all the current 250 riders are older than Jett and will be moving up soon..
so what is Jetts competition shaping up to be?
when you look forward into the future and see the competition. Who do you see that will stop Jett from wining titles other than himself?
Chase, Shimoda, and Hunter?
Generational talent
Easy know...hes riding in the weakest 250 field ive ever seen. Ofc hes winning. 450 is a totally different beast.
It's always hard to a predict a career like that, specially in such a injury prone sport. We also thought back then that Kenny would be the next one for a while, but sometimes it just takes one bad moment.
I just hope he stays healthy and we see great Sexton vs Jett vs Hunter vs Shimoda battles in a couple years. I also think Hunter has what it takes to win a 450 championship, he improved massively during the last two years. Honestly, if Jett has a career like Dungey/Villopoto/Tomac, that would already be absolutely insane. I don't think anyone will come close to MC/RC anytime soon though.
What is his 250 SX record now, something like 9 wins from 25 races?
Exactly my thoughts, competition is going to be pretty thin in about 2 years.
These are the stats for the last 3-4 years. He has good scores of course but he doesn't break all records on the 250 class either. There is no Tomac/Webb/Roczen stats in it too. He is doing really good, but I would wait to see how he is doing on the 450...

Jett has potential to make a run at the record book. Look at his competition in the 250 class this season; Jettson is the ONLY racer in the entire field who has earned an AMA #1 plate
Tonight in the 450 class 15 racers have earned an AMA #1 plate.
for the sake of argument at least consider Jett will have way more competition when he moves up to the 450 class

Jett is gonna win a lot in the 450 class if he stays healthy, and right now i don't see anyone being able to match him in 2-3 years time. But lets chill with breaking records talk. Look at how Craig is doing in these first two rounds. The top 10 in the 450 class is stacked when everyone is healthy.
I get that it looks promising. I get that the lad is super fast. I get that right now there isn't stiff competition for him. I like him and I want him to do well, and they work hard and are smart outside of just riding the bike, so it could happen.
But saying he will be the best ever at this stage is pretty crazy... It's good to get excited about the prospect, but let's be realistic 👍
Pit Row
I don’t think anyone in this thread has said he’s going to be the best ever.
Personally I think records like MCs/RCs are more or less unbreakable. Like in all sports too many people nowadays are groomed from early childhood which makes it harder to get that excessive edge on the competition you could get back in the day, just by training harder, to reach those kind of records.
I think the second-tier riders of today are way better and closer to the top-tier which makes it worse for the top-tier to have a bad race, hence stacking up wins and titles becomes harder.
Anyhow, Jett is a special talent, that’s for sure!
The thread is literally about him breaking every record in the sport.
Not hating but the west 250 class is kind of weak but yeah jett is nice with it.
No way he breaks Jeremy and Ricky's records.
Well, he would have had a chance had he not stayed in the kiddie pool again this year
No denying he is the next superstar (already is for the most part) and will be working his way up the wins list.
He has more potential than anyone else in the sport right now ..
Breaking RC and Jeremy’s records will likely never happen in our lifetime..
Ricky had more in two years.
If I’m not mistaken, Jeremy has 72 wins.
To tie, that’s 12 wins per season for six seasons in the 450 class, 6 per season for 12 seasons, or something in between. That’s assuming no missed seasons due to injury.
Is that possible? Sure. Is it likely now, in the era of numerous top-tier riders, need to push to that last .01% to win, relentless training, sponsor, and travel schedules, big $$$ (lessening the need for a longer career), and the resultant early burnout? No.
Just the way he rides that dirt bike is fun to watch .
Jett started his career in 2020, racing the first three races before crashing out and coming back for the SLC races. Started his first full season in 2021. Forkner and McAdoo have been in the class since 2017, and Cooper and Mosiman since 2019. Craig raced his first two 250 SX races in 2011, full season starting in 2013.
Given Jett's time in the class compared to those ahead of him on that list, Jett is on his way to surpassing the majority of those stats.
And at the end of Stewarts 2nd 125SX season he already had 9 wins lol
Jett is good, obviously, but the guys in this thread talking world records are nuts. He's beating lifetime 250 guys. Literally guys who will never have a 450 career.
Hows Craig been doing? People were all "He could win the 450 class on his 250!" last year. Well he can't even top 10 on a factory 450 right now sooo...
I think people gotta respect the 450 talent a lot more.
