23 CRF450 RS

I am a Honda dealer-we finally got to order the RS models, and Honda says they will hopefully arrive everywhere US in early February.

Did you really get to order them or did they tell you how many they were going to send?

They tell you what you're going to get nowadays. You don't get a chance to order what you want.

Nowadays? They always have.

I have been asking over and over about this bike as well. Kinda over Honda at this point and interested in something else unless the price were really reasonable. Why so late? They announced this thing before the Pala national eight months ago. Seems like other manufacturers have had 23 bikes on dealer floors for awhile now. 

I don't agree with that. There has always been an order period were you could order what you wanted and what color you wanted. Sometimes if you ordered 20 of something you may only get 8 if availability was an issue. Through this whole covid deal some/most manufactures have given an allocation of what you may get. You either accept it or you don't. You don't want to change color or you may not get it at all. Have some things got better, sure, but some are still the same. Just watch the news. China is still shut down at times and as much as we hate to admit it a lot of parts come from there. Some bikes/UTV's/ATV's are still hard to get. 

Honda currently gives us allocations without asking us what we want.  Honda did initally tell us dealers we were going to get to order the new RS model back in September if I remember correctly, but Honda has had many delays.  I personally have been waiting for our 50th Anniversary model that we are going to use as a demo-that was supposed to arrive here in August, and is still not here.  Lots of delays.  We have not had a new CRF450R in stock for the last 6 months.  Hopefully a few will arrive soon.

I was in a Honda dealer this week and he showed me the email he got regarding a recent order period.  It talked about what was available to order, then at the bottom of the email in bold letters it said that due to supply chain constraints, your dealership did not receive an allocation in the order period.  He was not very happy about it.

Looks like the RS's are on trucks. Check with your local dealer. Looks like we have three of them on the way. 

what's the S stand for?

It’s just the 2022 model at a discount.

2 arrived today here in south central Texas.  Along with a Works Edition. Better late than never!
