#1 and #2 will be on my fantasy podium every week because it looks like to me barring injury they are "the guys". One of them is going to get SX championship #3.
They were THE ONLY 2 RACERS that were ATTACKING ALLLLLLL the way to The Checkers.
Period.
Webb's ride deserves way more props. Tenth to second is no joke! We'll call that a classic Cooper Webb ride, haha.
Anderson was a tick off last night, but don't count him out.
A1, hits the ground, rides it out. Seen it before…it’s actually just “A1/Shit Happens”. He’ll shake it off and be back on the box…soon.

Any insight into Ando’s night? Did that practice crash set the tone for the day?
Anyone writing off Sexton and not putting him in your top 3 at this point is a moran. Of course Coop and Eli looked best, but expect Sexton to be there every weekend. I love Kenny, and I expect he is going to flash and fade (show flashes of brilliance, win a round or two, then fade as the season wears on - which quite honestly is ok). Anderson is going to flash and crash. He will be on the podium (a few top steps) this year but the crashes will keep him out of the title late. Mookie is going to flash and crash - I'm rooting for him to get his first win and be more consistent.
I wouldn't sleep on Ferrandis. The guy has the speed to ride with anyone on any weekend.
Going to be an amazing season this year. Just keeps getting better and better.
A1 and the track conditions due to all the water/mud in the low spots was screwing with EVERYONE. The mushy-rutty shit in some of the low-spots between jumps and even in a few turns…bit some of these guys HARD during the day and even thru the main.
Jason appeared to tighten up a bit after the fall at “home plate” when he was attempting to put a pass on KR. He wasn’t the same after that.
He had a pretty big crash in practice and a few tip overs throughout the night. He was about to pass Roczen for 3rd but crashed as we all saw. He was fast, but like many guys, he had some troubles with consistency on the track.
Ferandis was really good also. He just starts so shitty that doing good in sx is tough.
Ferrandis too, but Webb was a tick better at the end there
He had a good start in his heat and the main event.
In the main event, he made a mistake and got shuffled back and worked his way back up.
Main Race Start:
I just see Sexton still making the little mistakes that add up. I know it is just A1 but this wasn't Mookie or Craig scoring their first 450 win or even Kenny putting the archaic RM on top. This was two guys who have recently each won the thing twice both looking like they are ready to do battle and everybody else better get their act together quickly. I'm really curious to see if Webb can "Roczen" Tomac at some point with a last lap pass. C'mon Oakland!
Tomac, Anderson, Sexton will be your race winners and title contenders. Ferrandis and Roczen will be also be fighting for top fives to top three.
Man...I'm a fan of both Tomac and Webb....but to see Webb pass Tomac like he did with Roczen late in the race would be epic. This place would lose it's shit. I don't know if it's possible...Tomac is right where he left off last year.
While Webb's race was great he did almost the same last year. In 2022 A1 he was 7th on the first lap last year, had a fast lap within a second of the fastest lap of the night. So his race in A1 2023 and A1 2022 are very similar.
I would not be surprised to see Webb win races and the title. But also would not be surprised if he didn't
I think Webb has been able to "Roczen" Roczen a few times because Kenny was out of breath, panicked, and riding backward. Eli doesn't seem to be that kind of rider to me.
I didn't hear this anywhere else, but JT posted on Racer X that Anderson broke his nose in one of his crashes. Had I known that, I wouldn't have picked him for the win.
