New build time! I’ve been collecting parts for a little while now and finally ready to get it underway.
Started with a gem of a really low hour base bike which is making my life easy.

Strip down this weekend

Fully stripped, all aluminium parts prepped and ready to go our for vapour blasting later today

NOS Carbon Factory glide plate as used by the PC team in 03/04. Just making up the frame tabs to get welded on before it goes off for metallic silver powdercoat.
Motor stripped for inspection/cleaning. The bottom end has never been apart and everything internally is as-new.
Crank is currently having a new ProX conrod fitted.
New Haan magnesium colour hubs with black Excels.
The big updates will start to come over the next week - I have some suspension that’s currently out being assembled, and got some KHI Factory parts that will make it quite special.
I know how rare these are (i’ve seen all the threads on Vital), but I’m looking for a Pro Circuit complete linkage system. There actually has been a few of these sold over the past few months so they are out there - please get in touch if you have one you would sell for the right price!
KLS04125 is complete linkage part number.
KPA041257 is linkage arm number, KSL04125F4 is matching knuckle number.

That was a ridiculously clean bike to start with. Excited to follow.
Brackets fabbed and welded for the glide plate before it went off to be powdercoated yesterday:
First few PC parts arrived… Works pipe, R304 Shorty silencer, Shift lever and Brake hose clamp
Throttle Syndicate seat cover, Renthal controls and ARC RC-8 Clutch with aluminium lever
Couple of cool items… I was already planning on doing the newer rear caliper upgrade, and in doing so came across a billet KHI Factory bracket, followed shortly after by a billet KHI Nissin Rear master cylinder with bigger piston. This thing is a work of art!
06 KX125 progress… Haan/Excel wheelset, Rear brake assembly refreshed with a Lightspeed carbon guard and Venhill hose, refurbed Brake pedal (zinc tip with new rivet), motor vapour blasted by CeraMX and a refurbed airbox and subframe.
They look wheely nice
Maybe I'm wrong, but almost looks like brake line where it mounts to mc should be turned the other way. That way the line faces/angled more backwards?
Like it
I can see why you’d think that but it’s correct as-is. Motocross bikes go forward first and loop quickly down before going backwards. Allows the hose to run adjacent to the swingarm and the suspension movement works with the loop at the front.
Yeah, been riding 40 years, just looked like too much of an angle even for the way they run. But you obviously know what you're doing as cousin Eddie would say "It's a beaut Clark"
Haha, cheers! Venhill hoses have swivel ends too (at the end of the sheathing with Venhill logo) which helps when mounting them up.
Cases cleaned out after vapour blasting with all new bearings installed last night. I only ever use OEM so you know where you stand…
Ouff, following this one!
.
The PC´bike kx 125´s were absolutely stunning. (Not kx 125) in pic here but Mitch´s 250 for Brown didn't look too bad either
Pit Row
Yeah that was a beast! His 03 125 was one of my all time favourite bikes! I’ll have to get a set of those graphics/seat covers for it one day to mix it up…
Been making solid progress lately, prepping everything ready to begin assembly. Waiting to get the frame back from powdercoat this week and I should have some pics of it coming together.
What is the quality like of those VENHILL brake cables you're using on this build? I'm thinking of ordering some for my builds...
I don’t think it get’s any better IMO - they’re top tier. I use them on all my builds
What process did you use to clean/remove all the factory paint off the swingarm? Pryme MX discs?
Here is a set on ebay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/354538504240?hash=item528c244030:g:TucAAOSwUH5jzwnR&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoJYjLBe18MnTmHhQ0QXmjFZZsK7BoxnrQanTVrq6cVscZ%2Fz0wnmvBAo8jIeszaGw2ADw%2FGH28W1xguR0%2FygJfkbwJ1sLK3%2FlTXYIyrobTGd9fw7bedgy82a3OXZRuWZwu9gTjgANDKPj%2BeCwg424pQ7Igz879GMy1G944VlGe6Vqnp4pCxbKt9cwGc28egxQ4RuxXRo4uuTu8i%2F0OO1mLMg%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR8qY9ZS8YQ
Stripped and vapour blasted first before i got to prepping it. You wouldnt be able to remove alll the paint in the tight areas with just scotch wheels
Cheers mate saw this last night. Last couple sold for a lot less than $1k though and I won’t be paying that. If he wants to budge on price i’ll be keen but when we messaged he seemed fixed.
Why hasn't anyone come up with a REPLICA linkage set...there's gotta be someone out there that can help us out!!??
As for the 05 PC never did any complete knuckle + linkage arm combo for the 05-08 kx 250 two stroke.
The balance of the 03-04 were quite of (horrible). Thats why you only see the linkage arm for the 05-08.
If you want a knuckle for the 05 (250) there is something coming, cant spill the beans but keep eye on this thread hopefully within two months.
Pretty sure PC did the linkage arms (dog bones) for the 03 but never a knuckle. Then for 04-05 they made the full linkage. There's a crazy high priced 04-05 PC full linkage on ebay right now for sale.
Pic is from ebay...
Yes for the 125, I was thinking of the 250 two stroke. Only linkage for the 05 kx 250 no dog & bones.
